It’s honestly hard to believe some of the negative reviews, because our experience with Hamilton Road Animal Hospital was nothing short of incredible. Our sweet dog was hit by a car, and we weren’t sure if she was going to make it. We called on our way to the hospital, and the staff were ready to receive her the moment we arrived. Emotions were running high, but the vets moved quickly, doing everything they could to stabilize her and keep her with us. I understand that vet care can be expensive, but in our case, every dollar we spent felt absolutely worth it for the level of service, care, and compassion our dog received. The team was kind and patient, taking the time to explain everything to us, and they even did an x-ray free of charge to make sure she was safe to go home. We were deeply grateful for their thorough testing, their kindness, and the fact that they saved our sweet girl’s life. They also scheduled a free follow-up 48 hours later and were genuinely happy to see how well she was doing. Thank you to the entire team for guiding us through such a traumatic experience with so much empathy and professionalism. We’ll always be grateful.

I have had the most appalling experience at this place on October 5 2025! Not only did everyone at this clinic have zero compassion for someone saying goodbye to their beloved pet, they make it very obvious that its all about the money with their unnecessary tests and charges and anything they can add to the invoice that they can think of!!! My baby was euthanized and while i was saying goodbye I heard loud conversation and laughter in the reception area and one of the vets came in to discuss the invoice with me when i was in tears and hysterical! They carried her out for sedation with her head hanging like a rag doll and it's a scene i will never UNSEE in my mind! The lack of compassion is ASTOUNDING!!!! Customers are just dollar bills in this place!!! No one offered me any words of condolences or showed any sort of compassion and it was just business as usual tone. The vets are both very quick to go through the invoice and barely explain what each charge is and are hard to understand to begin with because of the very heavy accent. We were shown an X-ray that had someone else's name on it and were assured that it was for my dog!! They also tried to add a different fee for blood work when a different fee was previously discussed! If I could turn back time and take my baby elsewhere so she could have been at least treated more humanly for her last few breaths of life and not treated like a piece of trash that didn't matter!!! I WILL NEVER EVER return to this place and I am so regretful for bringing my baby here to die!!! Its all about the $$$ and zero compassion!!!!!

Went here to get my baby gerbil help as she seemed sickly, spoke to the vet-tech on the phone about her and they said they can take a look at her and try to help. Unfortunately no other small animal hospital was available at this time and they were the only option. When I got there and at first everything seemed normal, the vet-tech was nice but then I wait around 55 minutes for the doctor to come in and he came in for around 5 minutes told me there is nothing they can do and they can put her down for me or I can travel 2h away to see another vet that has more experience and proper tools and treatments for smaller animals, then he left. The vet-tech came back in and she was way more kind and tried talking to the doctor about the options but there wasn’t much they could do they said. My baby girl ended up passing away later when I got home with her and seemed like vet trip stressed her out a lot as she immediately worsened when and after going. The doctor seemed like he is just in it for the money and not for our animals wellbeing Side note: when the doctor came in he had brought another person in, it seemed like he was a person in training but the doctor never told me who he was and they were both being very loud and hovering around my baby and he handled her with no care and even flipped her around with no caution 👎🏻 Edit: she was moving around, the doctor wasn’t in the room for enough time to see if she was or not. The hospital they “guided me” to was again 2h away which would have stressed her out even further especially after the initial drive and wait for this vet (total 1h 20 mins) The problem: The doctor is unprofessional, lacks empathy and seems to lack experience especially with smaller animals (based on reviews + my own experience)
