I had my mammogram and bone density tests today, they do them one after the other and I am SO happy about that! Usually it takes two trips. Nicole was my tech and she was awesome! She explained the procedures thoroughly and was gentle and kind in doing it. The new mammogram machine was super comfortable and the test took much less time than in years past. No one likes these tests and anything that can be done to improve them is a big plus! Thank you for making this a quick (less than 30 minutes!) and easy experience, I will not wait 3 years to schedule my next exam!
We have received care at Hancock Regional twice and experienced, generally, terrible treatment. In May of 2023 my husband and I came in for vaginal bleeding at 6 weeks pregnant. ER ran the necessary tests and my baby had no heartbeat detected. We were told we were miscarrying and to return in two days to be retested. We did and the ultrasound detected the heartbeat. The doctor informed us we had a subchorionic hematoma, which explained the blood. The first doctor we saw failed to mention this to us. On the portal we saw the first ultrasound indicated a hematoma but this was never communicated to us during the first visit as a possible explanation for the bleeding. If it had been, much heartache could have been avoided and unnecessary anxiety throughout the entirety of my pregnancy. However, the most recent visit was far more egregious On September 28,2025 we had just welcomed our second baby at home, a successful VBAC, but I had a third degree tear. My midwives knowing it was out of their level of care had us come to Hancock Regional for the proper stitching. Our midwife called ahead to let them know that we were on our way. While there, we had Madison as a nurse. She was so sweet and helpful! The doctor on the other hand, Doctor Ton, seemed cold and like she didn’t want to be there. While we were being discharged, Dr. Ton called our midwife to lecture and threaten that if she brings “those kind of people” to her hospital again she will report her for negligence. This is an astounding level of discrimination and pompous overstepping that has left us infuriated. Hancock Regional has an atrocious reputation in the community and it continues to build on this. I will make sure to warn any of my friends or family about being subjected to incompetent and, putting it lightly, insulting treatment from this facility.
First time at Hancock Health and I was very pleased. Lady at the front desk was very nice. Candee did my mammogram and she was so nice and helpful! Couldn’t have had a better experience!
