Terrible. The receptionist and dental assistants are wonderful and caring and understanding. The dentist himself though, absolutely terrible. He was dismissive and was incredibly rough during the exam and plaque removal. Tore off a chunk of my gum tissue when he should have only been removing plaque. Do not recommend and I will not be returning.

We needed emergency dental care for our adult daughter who had recently moved back to Portland after living in the Phoenix area for 6-7 years. She had a sudden issue with 2 molars and the pain was terrible for her, as well all know how toothaches can be relentless! The staff at Dental Care of Portland was so kind and made an immediate, first available appt for her. When we brought her in she was stressed and of course, afraid of what was going to happen next, on top of being embarrassed too. The staff gathered the X-rays, etc., so to show her (and her parents too) what the issues were and her options and any added upgrades were explained for added costs but it wasn’t high pressured, but rather explaining each pathway and then there add ons and what each could mean for Amber. We decided to go ahead and add the extra costs in hopes of being able to have better options for her after the healing phases. Anyways, I’d love to also add that I am a current registered nurse and I did read some of the other reviews and was concerned about the claims made on cross contamination and potentially disease exposure to unsuspecting patients by means of reusing things like gloves, etc. Well I can say I did watch closely, from intake to discharge with our daughter. They did allow myself or her bf to go back with her, hiding NOTHING and I can say NONE of what the particular reviews had any truth to them. Nothing was re-used and no one was treated poorly at any point. As a matter of fact? At all times the staff all utilized proper handwashing, and PPE protocols and protected themselves and the patient/community population as a whole!! We will 100% come back to this dental office and highly recommend them as well! Thank you all for helping Amber and delivering the best, safest care possible!
