My little ones visit was wonderful! We cherish this dental office and its workers!! All of them have been amazing with LO and so patient!! The bed manner of both techs, nurses and Dr have been wonderful. LO’s recent visit she had a hard time initially with some tears but we got her settled down. After I asked her why and she said “her mask made me more nervous cause I couldn’t see her face, it was making me nervous”. I think if your workers want to wear a mask etc it should be a clear shield type because some kids don’t understand and not seeing her smile was hard on my LO. LO is also a kid who has had OT for white coat syndrome.

Overall, we both had a very great experience. All of the doctors were very pristine and laid everything out perfectly. They were also very reassuring and answered any questions that I had asked.

We are extremely frustrated and disappointed with our experience at Acorn Dentistry. We specifically requested that Dr. Tess handle our 5-year-old daughter’s procedure because she had previously shown genuine care for our daughter’s pain and anxiety when she came in for a check up. We were assured multiple times that Tess would be the one performing the work. Instead, on the day of the appointment, a different dentist (who we specifically asked NOT to treat her)—previously he showed no sensitivity to our daughter’s discomfort at her first crown fitting—was assigned. When I spoke up and reminded them that we had scheduled this appointment two months in advance specifically to ensure Tess would be available, they told us Tess was in the building but “couldn’t do it today.” This is unacceptable. We had even turned down an earlier, fully insured appointment in order to pay out of pocket so Tess could be the one to provide care. That choice cost us over $1,000—not to mention both my husband and I took time off work to be there. To make matters worse, the assistants attempted to force-feed my daughter medication, which caused her to spit it out. They then said because they couldn't determine how much she had ingested, they wouldn't proceed and told us to come back Monday. There was zero ownership or concern for the time, money, and effort we put in. It was clear the office did not care about our concerns, nor did they update their notes properly despite our repeated requests and conversations. This isn’t the first issue we’ve had—every prior visit has involved waiting at least 30 minutes past our scheduled time. We will absolutely be finding another provider. This level of disorganization and lack of empathy is unacceptable—especially when it involves a child’s dental care.

Very caring and supportive staff! They did a great job explaining what was going to happen to me and my child, made sure we understood and agreed to everything that needed to happen. Also, My daughter had to be put under anesthesia for her treatment and they were great helping me (Mommy) work through some anxieties in a new situation. Great with kids and parents!
