Customer experiences
On August 12, 2022, I had a pipe burst under my sink that caused significant damage to my kitchen floor, cabinets, living room and bathroom floor. The first company, I used that was referred by my insurance company, took too long to move forward. This prompted me to find another company, and I was able to choose the flooring and cabinets of my liking. I visited Home Outlet to choose my cabinet design, I began working with Mike, but ended up doing my design with Juan, he was so friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful in choosing what I wanted for this new chapter. Thank you so very much to Juan for helping me fulfill my dream and vision of my new kitchen. The road was a little bumpy, with getting a damaged cabinet, which caused another delay, not having all of my cabinets caused another delay. However, after consistent and persistent communication, I was able to work it all out with the manager Adam. The results below was all worth the trouble. The top pictures are from when I first purchased my home in 2019, and the bottom pictures are my newly renovated, and rebuilt design. I’m a true testament to God’s Grace and now I have a new home look, thanks to this amazing company. In life sometimes you have to change, transform, and rebuild your chapter and journey, in order for God to use others to bless you. For me to persevere means Endurance is Victory. Thank you Home Outlet for blessing Me.
On September 13, 2021, I took a set of plans to the Independence Blvd store in Charlotte, NC for assistance in cabinetry for a new build. Juan was the initial person who worked with me to design the lay out and placed the order Due to delays with the builder, the cabinets were not installed until December, 2022. At that point, we realized that the cabinet over the refrigerator should have been a 36x24x24. The cabinet ordered was 36x24x12. I realized at that point, it was too late to return for an exchange. Fast forward, I went to the store in March 2025 and explained to Andrew what had happened with the initial order and we needed to order the correct cabinet. He spoke with his manager and they decided that due to the duration of time, they couldn't refund or do an exchange. I understood and ask him to order the correct cabinet, I paid and waited for his call when shipped to the store. The cabinet arrived some time around April 2025. Andrew had ordered the same cabinet that I had on my wall over the refrigerator (36x24x12). The installer refused to take it. He told me that Andrew said through his manager, there was nothing they could do. I called Andrew later that day and he told me they would reorder the correct cabinet with no additional charges for me. The correct cabinet (36x24x24) was ready to pick at the end of May. When the installer brought it to my house 140 miles from Charlotte, it was the wrong style and color!! I called June 6, 2025 and spoke to Juan about the incorrect cabinet color and style. He told me he would pull the paperwork and call me back. He did not. I called the following Monday to inquire about the problem with ordering the wrong cabinet. He thought he had called me, but must have called Andrew instead was his response.?? I told Juan this was unacceptable, but I decided to remove the doors from the old cabinet over the refrigerator and place them on the correct sized cabinet. It worked out ok because the panel covers the side. He had to reorder the crown for the new cabinet. To error is human, but at least show some accountability for mistakes. Let's hope they get the crown order corrected!!
UPDATE: Thue were great resolving the issue. This was a manufacturer issue and Home Outlet took care of it !I ordered gray shaker cabinets and after waiting months for them to arrive(no fault of Home Outlet) I was excited to pick up. When I did I noticed the boxes had two manufacturers with two color names. I was assured both were the same color and that different companies use different labels. The items were different from the start from hardware to the doors on some installed in the face with others doors separate. I paid to have someone install them and after the dust settles, literally, I realized that they were two distinct colors and after further inspection noticed that the stain was vastly different on many of the cabinets. Pat look brown and not even close to gray. After contacting the store, I was told someone would contact me. It has been a week and no follow up at all. This has been a disappointment and hoping I can get this rectified. Sales people are amazingly helpful though so I’m trying to be patient. I will follow up in my review once a solution is offered.
These days I am surprised when I get great customer service. Most of the time when I go into a store, it is hard to even find an employee - much less find one that is extremely knowledgeable, polite, and resourceful. Well today as I entered this store I met a gentleman that went over the top with service. His name is Conner Waugh. I want to thank you, Conner. Great job with my quotes and the drawings!
