Customer experiences
We used Hope Construction for a Reno of our main floor living space. From the get go, we were very impressed with Hope and their staff!! The communication lines were always open and questions answered in a timely manner. They offered suggestions and thoughts but ultimately, allowed us to make the choices that were right for us!! Everyone that entered our home was respectful, friendly and kind and did an amazing job!! We are so in love with our house now!!! Thank you, Hope Construction!!!
We hired Hope Construction to finish our basement in 2021. The basement was empty so it was a blank slate that needed everything from framing, insulating, plumbing in a new bathroom and finishing. We hired them based on their core values, positive reviews, on time quotes and they said they would stay on budget and time. We were promised good communication and a beautiful end product. Unfortunately we had a rough experience and most of it was related to our project manager Jeff. We are told Jeff is no longer with the company but he represented the company at the time we had the work done and he made our experience a terrible one. He was never wrong - it was always someone else's fault from sub-contractors to technology and everything in between he could not take any responsibility. He estimated 6 weeks for the project but it turned out to be 3+ months. His communication was absolutely terrible and he left us multiple times with sewer backup over the weekend and no one to contact. He promised daily site visits and we were lucky if we saw him once a week. He didn't care about our job and would say anything to get us to leave him alone. He left us with damaged new doors, appliances, cut corners on the job and charged us $1400 for cleaners that did nothing and added scuff marks to all our new baseboards. Although our basement looks good (if you don't look too close) it was ruined by poor communication and terrible project management. We brought up the communication issues multiple times but instead of improving they got worse in an attempt to finish and be rid of us. I feel that if we had not micro-managed the entire project much would have been missed or done incorrectly. Let's fast forward to 2023 when Jeremy, the owner of hope reached out to discuss what they could do to help resolve our issues. He set us up with their new project manager Don who came to the house and went through the list of issues. The biggest of course was that they installed a small corner showed in the bathroom when we had asked for a 5ft one. Don took notes and promised it would be fixed. I had my doubts after our original experience but hoped he would follow through and he absolutely did! Don's attention to detail and ability to get the job done was a relief. He worked on all the small things and came through fixing the bathroom. They installed a beautiful 5ft tile shower which was better than we had originally asked for and the man who did the work was very detail orientated. We are now in love with our basement. It took multiple years but it is everything we had always wanted. It is to bad that we had to go through the first round but Don and the team worked hard to make it better and I truly appreciate that. We currently have one issue outstanding - 3 windows that have a warranty isssue to be addressed. Once this is complete I will be adjusting my rating.
5 Stars! That’s the first and easiest thing to say about my experience hiring Hope Construction to general contract the buildout of Urban Golf, a new indoor golf simulator business in Saskatoon. Ron, Jeremy, and the whole team at Hope Construction were a pleasure to work with! From the planning and design phase, to the construction phase, and everything in between, the Hope Construction team was professional every step of the way. Communication was constant, always making sure i knew what was happening and updated on timeline and budget. If an issue did come up, which always does in a major project like this, they went above and beyond to make it right. When it came time to open the business they spent countless hours to make sure we met our deadline. In summary… the process couldn’t have been more smooth and I was left with a product that exceeded my expectations! The next time I need construction work done, no matter the size of the project, Hope Construction will be the first company I call!
Hope Construction provided the quality of work with workers who were pleasant and easy to talk to. My updated condo is amazing and looks so professionally done. I highly recommend.
Hope Construction is a construction company.
