I consider this place to be the bitchy sister of the Queen street location. I have gone here a few times simply because the location and my hair cutter Sammie is really nice. But the overall feel of this place is snobby and rude. For example, I have bangs and get them cut every so many weeks, but when I go to queen street versus Oakville location, the service is very different. I went to queen street a few times (I used to live closer) and they did my bangs with no attitude, spent more time than necessary to get them perfect and there was no hair left on me. When I go to Oakville, I am always rushed in and out and there’s more often then not hair all over me. At queen street they put the full cover on me so hair doesn’t get anywhere. At Oakville, they make me hold a small towel under my face. My bangs get cut both ways but the quality of care is better at queen street. Another example is today I went there to get my bangs cut again and they didn’t bother to but a closed for the holidays sign on the door or online. I called the store cuz it looked closed and someone answered and told me that there was a sign. So I went back and checked and I still don’t see a sign. I might be wrong, maybe there is a sign. I’ll leave photos for you to check. But if there is a sign I don’t think it’s reasonably large enough for the customers. It’s the lack of customer care that brings this place down.

Prime location downtown Oakville. Tired shabby looking interior and bathrooms. Poor lighting. What a change from a few years ago. Had a body polish and a massage. Very polite professional yet inexperienced staff. Very disappointed. Tge head massage was a wire hair brush that was pressed into the scalp. And that was it! At market rates! Has the owner changed? This is not Civello level at all

I’ve been going to Civello for years. Ashleigh Stapleton was my colour technician. Although. I brought photo examples, she ignored my request for a new look. My colour was corrected by another technician, but it is now so damaged that it’s impossible to style. Management attempted to make amends, but I still had to pay to have another colourist to work on my hair. Free product doesn’t really change the condition of my hair. No follow up or apology from Ashleigh. I was greatly saddened by this as she has even coloured my hair at my home. Loyalty means nothing. There are so many other top salons out there. I’m surprised that there wasn’t really a concern about customer retention.
