Customer experiences
My boys have been going here for little over a year now and they love it. I missed judged them when I first moved to ingersoll but glad I gave them another try. My eldest son enjoys it so much that he hopes to open his own dojo one day. I personally love the levels of discipline, and how they run things. Sensi is THE BEST, victoria is firm and serious (which I love). My son really likes working with Matthew, zyad and yasar and and see him really doing well here. I would totally recommend this dojo to everyone.
I arrived at the dojo in my mid-forties for my first lesson since my very limited martial arts related experience over 20 years ago and was welcomed warmly. Everyone I came into contact with was encouraging and enthusiastic, but also patient. I am looking forward to going back.
I have been doing Gojo Ryu Karate for a couple weeks and I really am enjoying it. Hanshi Iso Yabunka is passionate as well as experienced and welcoming to his students same with Victoria. You do not only only learn about karate moves but you also learn about the history of Goju as well as what they mean in Japanese. There is a lot of things that you are going to learn there that at times it can be a bit overwhelming but everything you learn has a purpose. If you feel like you are overwhelmed, let them know because they completely understand how the students feel and are very approachable and they will have your back in your journey. They are also extremely patient with the children as well and knows what to do whenever a child is feeling distress. They are also extremely accommodating to different types of learning styles so that you can learn and grow which is why I highly recommend Gojo Ryu.
I am absolutely disappointed this karate place. My son was there for 4 paid classes after i wanted to remove him after i witnessed how disrespectfully one of the instructor talked to a little old lady after she was looking for her grandson that was sick on the floor. (Most parents dont even stay while the kids are there) When she asked the instructor where the little boy was. The instructor snapped back an extremely rude remark of not interrupting her class, and he was in the bathroom. There were no other adults around to ask where the child was. Instead of taking the few minutes to nicely answer the old womens questions on where the child was so she could go attend to her sick grandchild.. the same instructor a few minutes later snapped another rude remark at a child who needed to use the washroom.. was told they need to manage their time better and go before class because their siblings do the same thing.. when i mentioned all this to another instructor, the children were the ones to blame. No accountability was taken for the poor behavior and attitude of the instructor that night. The second instructor that i emailed told me that they know all the medical information because you fill out a form but the instructor teaching that night barely knew kids names from 6 months ago which she had said herself. So how could she know if there was a medical condition that the child who was using to use the bathroom had/ didn't have.. I paid $175 for 3 months of classes and when i asked to be refunded they refunded me $55 because of the uniform is non refindedable and the the partial monthly class isnt refunded either when he was there for 4 classes.. and it's twice a week of classes. I will never send anyone i know to these places, and if anyone asks about it, i will make sure i share my review with them.
Ingersoll Karate is a sports school.
