Invision Design recently completed a home renovation for us (new dining room and enclosed patio) along with an overall refresh of our main floor living space. We knew what we wanted in our new space, but we had no idea how to approach the project, and so we began our search for a designer to help us translate what was in our heads into a design that would bring it all together. We reached out to Jen at Invision Design and from the very first visit to our home we knew we had chosen the right partner. After really listening to what we wanted – and gently letting us know what was actually doable – she delivered an amazing overall concept drawing that really helped us begin to understand the potential of our space. Her concept addressed issues we hadn’t even considered (natural lighting, overall flow, maximizing available space, tie into the existing structure) and seamlessly integrated them into the design. She included details that take a project from average and functional to outstanding and breathtaking (paneling, molding, materials, color choices). With an eye toward a truly holistic design, Jen also helped us refresh our old, outdated kitchen (color and layout) cost-effectively and beautifully by including a new island and small detail changes (lighting/handles and knobs) that really changed the functionality and the aesthetics of the space. As this was our first renovation project, we didn’t know what we didn’t know, and this is where Jen and the Invision team really distinguish themselves from other firms. Jen is so much more than just an incredible designer (and she is a incredible designer!); she is a strategic partner whose goal is to shepherd her clients through what can be a tricky, frustrating and often unnecessarily costly venture. Jen helped us understand the many moving parts that make up a renovation project and leveraged the expertise of a network of professionals who appreciated the complexity of a project like ours. This included providing us with a list of contractors that she had worked with in the past. We were able to interview each one and ultimately choose a contactor whose values and commitment to quality aligned with our own. And, it was very comforting to know that we were picking from a list of contractors that had earned Jen’s trust when it came to reliability and quality. Once the project began Jen was always only a phone call or email away when we had any questions. She would also rearrange her schedule any time we needed her to come out on site for meetings with the contractor or any vendors. After four years of working together to get this project off the ground, complete with a two-year hiatus thanks to COVID and the labour and materials shortages that followed, we can honestly say that if it were not for Jen’s tenacity, her network of like-minded professionals, and her ability to provide reassurance when things took a turn, we would never have been able to create the exceptional space that we call home. Invision Design is a customer-focused, well-organized, highly knowledgeable small business that goes above and beyond to make sure that their client’s vision is realized. Jen and her team are hardworking, creative and personable and very much committed to working collaboratively so that you, as the client, walk away from your completed project knowing that every aspect was executed to the highest standard of quality.
