I appreciate the fact that we have a local organization that diligently handles the entire process for Zakat within Canada. I know there is a huge need within Canadian Muslims and NZF is tirelessly working to support them in Canada

We applied for zakat in last year---sometime in September/October. We had to wait for four months for a response in regards to an approval or rejection---they kept asking for statements, and then at a point they said they closed the file on grounds of not receiving the statements they asked for, even though we sent them. If it were not for another person who was connected to the foundation, we probably wouldn't have heard anything at all. And in the end, after waiting all this time, all we get is a $100 gift card, for one time, and no other financial aid. They are supposed to help Muslims---especially those who are helpless, and in my case I am widowed, and disabled, but they don't. And the aid was our lives matter.
