Customer experiences
We had lunch at Izzy's on October 18th. Ordered their pickerel dinner special - it was great. Generous portion, perfectly cooked, reasonably priced. The weather was unexpectedly warm and nice, so we were able to enjoy their patio and unique view of the adjacent harbor. The service was also quite good.
Silas is the new proud owner of this yummy restaurant in the small but very welcoming town of Port Burwell! We can't say enough about this young man! His service was top notch even accommodating our need to watch our precious Blue Jay's! The first night we stumbled upon his place we had just finished dinner and were looking for a place to watch the game! We'll with open arms he treated us with his generous spirit and even though the Jay's lost we felt like we gained a friend. So much we went back for dinner the next night and enjoyed the Fish and chips special along with the dill pickle poutine! There was even vegetarian options available!!! Yippee!! Wishing Silas continued success and his staff are also very happy! A true sign that things are right! Even the bathrooms were super clean ✔️ ✅️ 💯 ❤️We will be back to catch another beautiful sunset on the awesome patio! Doug and Tanya!
We weren’t happy with this place. We tried their new burger, and I’d probably describe it as edible but not at all tasty. The patties were dry and bland, the buns were the most generic you’d find in a grocery store, and the lettuce and tomato were tasteless 🤷🏼♀️. Also, it’s quite pricey, especially considering the quality. I get that burgers might not be their specialty, since they position themselves as a fish-and-chips place, but come on :)
I'm a sucker for anywhere that gives me even the slightest feeling beach vibes. We've driven well over an hour just to come sit on the patio and eat some fish and chips here. The view is ...well... different, I mean there's a massive naval sub 100 feet from the patio, where does that happen!? I haven't tried all the food, I hear the poutine rivals anything you can get in Quebec, but the fish and chip platter is where you hit the motherload! The fries are perfectly crispy without that burned oil flavour at most places. The batter is crispy yet fluffy somehow, it's magic. The fish is fresh and so delicious. And it's MASSIVE! The dill pickle fries have real dill pickles and dill on them! They're really good but can use a touch more pickle flavour and a bit more ranch, but it's great just the way it is. Service is on point, very friendly and fast, and the price is super affordable. When you're done here hop across the road and grab some incredible ice cream and take a walk down to the water. Well worth the drive!
