Customer experiences
Had a fantastic HUGE! SPICY!!! Bonaire Poutine prepared by Prezy. Thank you so much for a Fantastic first visit!
Edit: I have tried to change this review for the past while, my phone hasn’t let me (keeps giving me an error) but my experience was fixed awhile ago. I went in and spoke with the man, and he made me a donair on the house and apologized. Glad to come eat at a local business who will recognize their mistakes. If you want some of the best damn sweet sauce you’ll ever have, J’s is the place to go.
After a long while I attempted to try their donairs here again. I had a feeling I would be wasting my money compared to a better spot but wanted to try, damn was I right, this meat is so dry and bland, barely eat this with extra sauce with every bite. I could not even finish half this donair had to throw it out and bite the bullet on this. Definitely done with trying this place out indefinitely. Way better options in spruce.
First time eating a donair outside of Edmonton. Pushed my lunch back to the end of the day and had to get a donair right away. I couldn't wait till I was back in Edmonton. J's was about 2 mins away and had good reviews. Shop is very clean and presentable, lone staff member was very friendly and she answered all my questions and built a well crafted donair. Price was fair, the regular donair was slightly lower than of a jumbo in Edmonton and was bigger than most jumbos in Edmonton. I noticed that my donair meat was already cut and stored in a warming tray and was steamed before being built. Not common but I've had decent steamed donairs before but prefer a quick fry on a flat grill. Donair flavour was good and spicy, sweet sauce was generous and tasty. Only other sauce option was tzatziki. Again, built well and generously packed with long strips of meat. The overall experience was really good but I have to say that something needs to be done about the overcooking of the donair meat on the rotisserie spit. The meat was dry as shoe leather, lost most of its beautiful brown complexion and obviously overcooked. No amount of steaming could have saved this poor donair. Was only able to handle about half of this and tossed the rest. Sure this may have been an off day considering the mainly great reviews, I'm willing to try this place out again if I'm in the area.
J's Donair is a restaurant.
