If I could write a "0" review, I would. Absolutely horrific experience for my daughter. My daughter had spinal surgery, 22 screws, and 2 bars put into her back July 23rd, 2024. She was so excited to to get her hair done before school started. She was referred to this location by a friend to try the downtown JB salon. I ok'd it, however, just one time as we have a stylist and the money they charge is nonsense. I dropped my 15 year old daughter off, as they said that she would be 3.5 hours. 30 minutes later she called me in tears. They refused to highlight her hair. They took a long piece of her hair, cut it off, tested it, and said that they would not work on her hair. They said her test strand came out in three different colours, and they could see breakage. They asked what box dye she used (which she's never touched) First of all, my daughter's hair is very healthy, three tones of colour on dyed hair is normal when the roots grow in. She also suffers from Trichotillomania from anxiety (which she constantly struggles to hide). They treated her like garbage, a vulnerable, young, 15 year old. I was at an appointment, so I couldn't get back into town within the hour to pick her up. Three stylists surrounded her showed her pictures of what they could do, styles, dye, etc.... then two others came over and laughed at her hair, and refused to colour it. Bullies. Absolutely sickening and unacceptable. They gave her a complimentary hair mask, and then cut it, then charged her $60 dollars. I trusted her in their hands, and she was laughed at. This place shut down in the township, and I can see why. They get a 1.5 star on YELP, and I can see why. SHAME ON YOU JAMES BRETT. 1st picture is my daughter's hair, without the flat iron, going into James Brett. The 2nd and 3rd picture are what my stylist (who is absolutely amazing) put into her hair today.

James has been doing my hair for a few years now. I love how it looks once he's done. He is great with scheduling appointments around my schedule and I can't say enough good about this place.

I am not one to normally leave a review, however, I was very disappointed in a service I received at the downtown location a few months back. I went in requesting a hair cut (my hair was quite long) as I wanted to go shorter. I thought everything looked great, except the fronts were slightly uneven, but when I arrived home I was horrified. To say that I had received the worst hair cut I had ever seen in my life is an understatement. I went back the next morning and the owner attempted to fixed it but ultimately I had to get it fixed again (thankfully at another salon). Never once was I offered a refund, despite how bad the hair cut was. I would not recommend this place!

I went to the West End location a few years ago for a cut and dye job. I told them I was unhappy with the results but they said I still had to pay full price. They also used extremely high pressure tactics (there were 4 separate women at the front counter talking to me at the same time) to make me leave a 20% tip. I will never go back and I suggest you stay away.
