I had been seeing Dr. Bachman for routine cleanings without any issues. However, when I started experiencing cold sensitivity, I made an emergency appointment before leaving on an international trip. Dr. Bachman didn’t see anything concerning on the X-rays but prescribed antibiotics just in case. While I was abroad, the pain escalated to the point that I could barely sleep or eat. I called Dr. Bachman’s office from my trip to schedule an appointment for as soon as I got home, assuming they would understand the urgency since I had already flagged the tooth as problematic a few days prior. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. His staff told me the soonest appointment available was in three weeks—no exceptions. When I said that was unacceptable, they told me to call each morning to check for same-day cancellations once I was back. I asked what would happen if no cancellations came up, and they repeated that I’d have to wait three weeks. They also mentioned that Dr. Bachman would likely refer me to a specialist anyway. I asked to be referred immediately, but they said Dr. Bachman insisted on seeing me first. The pain became unbearable, and I ended up needing an emergency partial root canal while still abroad. When I returned home a few days later, I called the office again and received the same answer: no availability. So, I found another dentist in town who, without even seeing me in person first, referred me straight to the appropriate specialist. Everything was taken care of within 24 hours, and I had my follow-up and crown completed by the referring dentist within a week or so. By the time Dr. Bachman’s office called me to offer an appointment, I was already fully treated. I told them to cancel all future appointments, as their handling of my dental emergency was completely unacceptable. Now, four months later, I just received a call to confirm my “upcoming cleaning.” Clearly, communication and listening are still not their strong suits.

I have seen Dr. Bachman for several procedures over the last few months and every single one has been of high quality and care. He and his team are welcoming, organized, knowledgeable and caring. My family and I have all had positive experiences with him and his office, even with procedures that go beyond the usual oral hygiene care. He is great and I’m so glad we found him.

I have been seeing Dr. Bachman on and off for 20 years. He is an excellent dentist! His team make feel very welcome in the office. I usually have a lot of anxiety about dentistry, but when I see Dr. Bachman I always trust that I will be well taken care of.

My 4th visit here. Always friendly staff and great hygienists. Dr Bachman has done an excellent job at saving a couple of my teeth that have been neglected from not doing regular dental visits. One tooth was so bad I thought for sure I would have to have it pulled, but he saved it. He communicates what’s going on, and checks in to make sure I’m doing ok during the process. Finally found a dentist in Bend that I trust and will go back to for my six month cleaning/check ups now.
