Had to stop by and check it out when we saw the name. We loved the "Beverly Hillbillies." We had the family meal for 2, with the 1/2 slab, brisket, and burnt ends. Also had the smoked wings as appetizers, and for the sides, we had cole slaw, fried pickles, salad, and green beans. Our waitress was super attentive and nice. Sports bar atmosphere, not crazy loud, very nice. Our food was very good. Highly recommend the wings, green beans, corn bread, and ribs. Brisket was tasty but a bit dry. The burnt ends were good, just too much sauce, and also very small portion, especially since you upcharge $2 for the ends and another $2 for the brisket. All the sauces were good and hard to decide a favorite. We highly recommend and would return. We might have just caught an off night for the brisket and ends.

I am from Colorado and I first visited Jethro’s on Drake University campus back in 2006. My son was attending college there, and we just had to try Jethro’s BBQ. We have been hooked on it since… This place not only creates amazing BBQ, but they also are very customer focused. I recently visited my brother-in-law in Osage, IA and had the privilege of interfacing with multiple AMAZING customer focused Jethro Employees. The first was Fernando Lara. I developed a paprika allergy within the last two years, and so I contacted Fernando who took the time to research their entire menu to alert me ahead of my visit of the items that contain paprika. The second contact was actually our outstanding server, Tara, at their Ankeny, IA location. Tara took care of my entire crew (there were 8 of us…). Finally, I had the BEST follow-up experience with Sarah Huffman in Corporate Operations. Her genuine niceness and willingness to assist me was unmatched. Over all AWESOME! Our server (Casey) was on point, pleasant, quick and professional. The food was great. I grew up a fan of fried pork tenderloin, especially one made in Iowa, and Jethro's did not disappoint. Highly recommend just based on the tenderloin and the onion rings (which were ginormous!). The quality of the sandwich made me feel like I was a kid visiting my grandparents again. Way to go Jethro's you nailed it.

Such a classic in Des Moines!! Jethro’s you can’t go wrong. People hate on it, but it’s so good! Been going since college. I love the turkey melt - add bbq sauce! My mom got the pulled pork and my nephew got the bbq burger. The waffle fries are amazing! So good!!!
