Customer experiences
Beautiful property, lots of well lit parking. Absolutely the best water pressure I have ever experienced in a hotel, ever. Staff was so very nice and accommodating as we got there late, with a pet, and they got us sorted quickly. We missed breakfast, overslept, but the dining area was well appointed and clean. The only thing is they are not right off the highway. If another hotel employee (they were full and the others were way over priced) had not told us we would have gotten back on the road and it was already 1030. I'll stay there again the next time in town.
Positive: i’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times, and each time i’ve experienced great customer service. the breakfast has wonderful options, both hot and cold. the pool is not too cold or too small. the hospitality team does a great job! it’s a peaceful place Negative: the location isn’t directly close to many attractions but the local grocery store is fascinating and there’s direct access to city buses/rideshare
We stayed at the Sonesta Essential for 3 nights, 4 days. They didn’t allow early check in but that was okay, there’s plenty to eat and do around the area! When we came back, we were greeted by a very friendly staff member. She had me checked in with my room keys within 10-15 minutes and was very informative, telling me about the $50 security deposit that was returned back to my account after a couple days of being checked out. She informed me of the complimentary breakfast hours for weekdays vs weekends, and that the elevator was broken but I could see they were actively fixing it with a tech onsite. Because of this, she directed us to the nearest staircase for our room. We only had to use the staircase the first day, the elevator was fixed the rest of our stay. They had a pitcher of ice cold water near the front desk every single day that was always filled when low, plenty of lobby seating, maybe 4 luggage carts, and complimentary pet treats as this is a pet friendly hotel. I especially enjoyed their 24/7 coffee machine with various creamers available in the lobby. At night, they do lock the hotel front doors and you’ll have to use your key to get in. If you don’t have your key, that’s okay as well! The front desk always has someone there and he had to let us in one night as we didn’t have our key on us. Our room was clean with clean towels, bed sheets, fresh toiletries, etc. We were low on toilet paper one day and asked the front desk for some. They immediately gave us 3 rolls right away! Additionally, i didn’t notice any weird smells either— the room itself and hallway always smelled nice. The AC worked fantastic with 3 different fan speed settings, ability to set different temps, etc. it kept us and the room nice and cold all throughout our stay. The room had a microwave, Keurig, and mini fridge as well, perfect for storing food, making coffee, and reheating leftovers. A major thing I noticed that i’ve never noticed at other hotels before is the water pressure! Their water pressure was so strong for both the shower and bathroom sink! I had to keep reminding myself not to flick the sink lever up all the way (instinct to do) because the water would shoot straight out. Water got hot enough for me for showers so no complaints there! Breakfast was mediocre but it’s free and was still delicious! They had milk, chocolate milk, various juices, 24/7 coffee, various cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, jimmy dean sandwiches you could heat up, danishes/bagels/toast, etc. what you’d see nowadays for free hotel breakfasts. I guess a downside is there was a lot of construction going on in and around the hotel as they’re under new ownership. The construction would start really early and end around night time so a lot of noise and thin walls. I personally didn’t mind it. I’d definitely stay here again when I visit the area. It was in a prime location with so much to eat and do and a gas station/auto care center literally a 30 second-1 minute drive away, nice, hospitable staff, and big clean room!
Location the the museum of art is great and easy to find. The bathroom is roomy enough to accommodate 2 people and has a jacuzzi tub. The room was clean. The issue I have is the room we were given has the lobby on the other side. The head of the bed is on that wall and you hear everything on the other side. The most annoying thing, though, is the loud quadruple banging that happens every few minutes nonstop. They had no other rooms to move us to. The front desk staff when discussing changing rooms talked in another language I couldn't understand. I wanted to pay cash and was told they didn't accept cash. Also the air-conditioning didn't work well in our room. Never could get it cool enough to be comfortable.
