Customer experiences
I don't know what positive energy they feed cashiers at this store but omg the smiles are huge and they are super friendly. The store is pretty well maintained and bets to shop at during week days. The prices are hit or miss so do your research before coming in and come with a list. Pretty clean, the only thing I gripe with is the leafy greens section, the produce there is not the best quality and not well labeled. Double check the labels in all the produce section to be honest. Sometimes they don't match the product or misplaced.
Some of the workers are SO RUDE! I was there today at around 5 pm. There was a display of palmolive soaps for a good price (I happened to take a picture to show my husband and I’m so glad I did!). I didn’t ruin the display at all. An older tall Caucasian worker came up to the display while I was there and said “oh my god” and he was tutting and sighing with annoyance. I was so shocked, I said to him “what?” and he didn’t even acknowledge me and completely ignored me. He went up to the display and turned two bottles around (as seen in the photo - two of the bottles labels was not facing the front). I told him that I didn’t even touch that and he still completely ignored me. I was with my little sister and baby and I told my sister that the man was so rude right in front of him and he still did not say anything or even look at me. I’m not sure if he’s racist or just rude to everyone.
You pay for what you get. No customer service from any of the staff. No friendly “hi’s”, no friendly smiles. The owner isn’t any better. He was at the door today talking to a customer didn’t even look me or my husband in the eye. Doesn’t even a friendly gesture. Then the produce may be cheap in price but the quality is horrible. I literally was picking through bad produce to find a good one. Really the store is good for dry goods only but then always check your expiration dates.
Unfortunately I came across an extremely rude cashier today. She was a tall middle age female cashier. I spent about $80 and at the time of paying, I realized it was my first time to use the renewed President Master card that I received recently. So she told me to swipe the card, and then I was asked to put the pin number. Because usually I am not required to put the pin number, I did not remember it. Anyway, I tried twice, but it didn't work. The cashier became so upset and told me to insert the card. But then the card was suspended. She raised her voice and told me to call the customer service, for which she said it would take 2-3 hours to get it fixed. Then she outrageously moved the items that I was purchasing to the empty packing board. I quickly reset the pin number in my car and returned to the store to buy them. Then I was not even required to put the pin number but to insert the card in the terminal. She embarrassed me only because her instruction was incorrect. I was very saddened and disappointed in such an ill-mannered cashier in my favourite store. She definitely needs customer service training and also anger management training.
Joe & Val's NOFRILLS Aurora is a grocery store.
