Customer experiences
Jones Asphalt recently helped us with our dispensary’s commercial parking lot in Parkville. They took the time to consult with us on different approaches and worked with us to find fair pricing. The team was professional, easy to work with, and delivered great results. We’d definitely use them again!
Jones asphalt paving is excellent. Quality work, they went above and beyond repaying my existing cracked driveway . My driveway is 1000' long. Took them two days. We'll worth the slightly higher price.
Update - Jones continues to ignore their customer and their obligations under contract. Their poor workmanship shows after only 6months and their poor business practices continues to this day 2 years later. Update - Dropping to 1 Stars from 5 due to failures in the project and failures in Nick and his crew returning calls/showing up/resolving issues in their work. Within less than 6months of the project being completed, we noticed that the new wall had started falling away from the concrete slap. It started out small and grew. We reached out to Nick promptly and were promised that he would return to check it out, unfortunately he never showed up. Within this time, we started to also notice that the seam in which connected the old back patio to the new expansion started to grow in size, up and until the point where vegetation started to grow in the cracks. Attempting to get him to come out again extended well into 12months and then past that, until he finally came out 13months later. His solution for the wall falling away from the concrete was to dig up a little bit of the yard infront of the wall and put in a re-enforcing wall in the dirt. The solution for the back patio was to grind it open and fill it in. After he finally left following these patches, we then started to take notice to the fact that the wall had not only been falling forward, but also was sinking to the point that the head caps which were once glued down, are no longer adhered to anything but gravity. We attempted to call Nick, and it went to voicemail with a promised text that he'll call that evening. Fast forward a week and still no reply back or follow-up. Here's the issues we ran into from start to finish: - Nick started the project knowing that we wanted the wall and that the wall would have head caps on them, so that it can be used for seating. They then ordered all wall blocks and no headcaps, passing the discrepancy onto us for the price. - The contract states that the crew would be supervised at all times, and we had told Nick that we wanted a particular plant which is exotic and not able to be found locally to be preserved. We were willing to dig up ourselves but were given assurances that Nick would have it pulled up and moved for us. He left the project with his father, leaving the crew by themselves, and due to a "language barrier" with the unsupervised crew, they chopped up our plant instead of dig it up. - The contract states that the project was covered by a warranty of 12months, but within 6months an issue occurred and we could not get Nick to actually come out within a 12month period. - We found out that they don't seem to have a DE license, though when we asked due to the one being posted about being expired, we were given assurances it was being approved and shown a temporary. Do yourself a favor and search for the company on the DE websites, you won't find them. We are now out 15k and have a wall that appears to be collapsing in one way or another, and have to wait and see if filling a cap stops a concrete extension from falling away from the main slab.
My wife and I just purchased our home and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg getting the old ribbon driveway re-paved. I called 4 separate companies and Jones Asphalt was the only company to actually come out, assess my driveway, and give a quote on the spot. Nick Jr. was very personable and honest. He has lots of knowledge about the asphalt business. His passion for the business and doing things right the first time really shine through with every word he speaks. He and his crew were punctual and thorough. Nick was great communicating each step of the process while work was being done, and the job was performed very quickly -- total time was estimated at 2 full days but they only took a day and a half. Very impressed with the work this crew did. With the new driveway in, I don't even recognize my house anymore. It's amazing!
