I have a 16-year-old dog, so of course, I have been to many other vet clinics and am familiar with the price of blood and urine exams. Bronte Village Animal Hospital cost is almost 20–30% more than any other clinics, but I thought I was in the good care of Dr. Janet, so I didn't mind paying extra. The staff are very nice; don't get me wrong—they are very responsive. The only issue is that Dr. Janet, who I am seeing, is not always there, which causes a bit of a delay. However, there are other vets who can help if there is any urgency, as is the case at many other vet clinics. As my dog is old, he needs a few medications, including heart and kidney medications. Their medication prices are significantly higher than what you can get directly from a pet pharmacy or any other vet location—they are 20–30% more expensive. I was recently charged about $120 per month for medication, and I just found out that I can get the exact same medication for under $60 from a direct pharmacy place with free delivery. Yes, I need to pay a prescription fee (Bronte Village Animal Hospital charges $30, while other places I checked charge $20–$25), but even with the prescription fee added, the cost is still less than $100. I called the clinic, and they confirmed there is a mark-up on medications. My advice is: Please order directly from any pet pharmacy; it would save you a lot of money. Some pet pharmacies even offer free delivery. On a positive note, Heather and Sara were super nice and explained things well. But please be aware of the prices they are charging, and be a smart consumer about it.
