We recently had Chan and his team renovate our basement and our experience was excellent overall! After getting into contact via the website, Chan came within the next day or two to conduct a site visit. He was easy to communicate with, friendly, detailed, and provided us helpful yet budget-friendly solutions. We were provided with a quote within a day, and were not pressured to move forward until we were ready to do so. The entire project took about a week, which was communicated clearly from the beginning. The process was easy - we just chose the flooring, paint colour, and stairs at a building supply showroom, and his team handled the material ordering and delivery. During the construction process, they were very careful to lay down flooring protection so nothing was damaged. They made sure to tidy up at the end of every day. We really appreciated that they even took care to close doors to minimize sound and dust, and even vacuumed and mopped after they were done! We tend to be quite picky with craftsmanship, as we have had bad experiences before, but we were very happy with the results and quality of work provided. Rates were very reasonable, especially for the quality of work provided. We would definitely recommend Yok Mei to our friends and family, and would not hesitate to hire his team again! Renovations can be stressful, and I’ve heard nightmarish stories from friends and family (such as contractors taking far longer than promised or cutting corners here and there). That’s why I’m genuinely happy to say our experience was truly top-notch and I can't recommend Yok Mei Construction Corp enough. Our real estate agent recommended Chen and Yok Mei Construction Corp for their high-quality work and reasonable pricing, and she was absolutely right! We were renting at the time and needed to move into our new 3-bedroom house within 8 weeks. We initially planned to renovate the old basement, kitchen, and living room, and add an additional bathroom. Chen and his excellent team finished that first phase incredibly quickly, and the quality was so impressive that we decided to move forward with a full renovation. Chen is outstanding with communication; we used a WhatsApp group for quick communications, and he was consistently clear, responsive, and professional. He takes pride in his craftsmanship, respects his reputation, and doesn’t leave unfinished work behind. We also truly appreciated that after we moved in, he sent his team for a complimentary check-up visit to help fix a few issues we discovered in the house (not related to their work). That level of care and integrity is rare. The results speak for themselves: the transformation is remarkable, as if the same place turned into a completely new one.
