I recently closed on a home I was selling and it was listed with Megan Abner. While Mrs. Abner was not my choice of realtor due to some legal obligations I did want to leave some feedback on my experience with her. While the whole process was frustrating, I was not kept in the loop about much. While I was selling the property jointly - Mrs. Abner only seemed concerned about the other person on the listing. I was basically on the back burner and my needs were not taken into consideration. I was only spoke to when I needed to do something and was given very little flexibility. Also - I was not even made aware by Mrs. Abner (or anyone) that she wouldn’t be attending my closing. I found out the day of, from my lawyer, when she just didn’t show up that she wasn’t going to be in attendance, yet she was sure to get her commission check mailed to her that day. All the while not even making sure her clients got paid. We closed on 11/30 and still have not been paid our proceeds and it’s 12/17, yet Megan has been MIA since not coming to closing and collected her money. While I didn’t have an option to chose the realtor I would definitely not choose her again or KP reality for that matter. Not only should Mrs. Abner try her best to be at closing, at least have the common courtesy to let BOTH clients know you won’t be there. On the sale of a $560k home, she clearly had to people in mind: HERSELF and the other person on the listing with me. I hope Mrs. Abner collected her check promptly, meanwhile her clients have yet to get paid with no help from her. As far as I am concerned she did not meet the fiduciary duties owed to her clients. I hope she and KP reality can do better in the future and serve clients how they deserved to be treated. After all, your clients are your livelihood.
