All 5 of us had been loyal customers since the day it was opened 12 years ago at South Yarra. We then moved to Collingwood as advised and been very supportive lending our hair cut by trainees. We have never complained despite many mistakes done and it is not free, there is a risk to our appearance too. However, what upset us was the ungratefulness their present staff had shown. If my booking is for an express cut of 30mins, please don't add on any washing training you want to profit for your first time student to learn without advising me and then add on 50% to what I had booked for a $10 cut. Asking me to pay extras simply displayed how cheap and sneaky you portrayed your barber shop. That day the teacher wasn't interested at guiding her student's performance that I had to have another cut immediately after arriving at our overseas destination. The principle behind this feedback is that despite I endeavoured to contact Kane, all my 3 calls were not returned, prompted me this review here. Please respect the customers' bookings as we had already factored in 30 mins of our time for that day which your student took 90 minutes, our parking was affected and so was the rest of our days' schedules with a flight to catch that night. There are plenty of hairdressing schools giving free hair cuts and a quick Google search, can lead us to our many choices. Why would we bothered to travel 25km, finding parking a challenge, show our 12 years of loyalty to your barber only to be ridiculed by your staff?

Kane has been cutting my hair for five years, and he’s always delivered a consistently great haircut. Friendly service, good conversation, and a generally nice vibe every time. Highly recommend him if you're looking for a solid barber in Collingwood!

2.5 if I could. Recieved a head shave and beard "Shave". Head shave felt very over produced, Think Rowan Atkinson's in love actually's over done gift wrapping, and the beard trim/shave....Didn't even use a straight razor to clean the shaved areas and the over all quality was average (Dissapointing from a supposedly prestigious Barber). But the most disappointing part was the Barber experience, I have severe anxiety and the Barbers comments I found very insensitive (even if they where said off hand) and I think they push their social interaction on customers instead of letting the customer engage as they would prefer. For the the price I will not be returning as cheaper and more experienced Barbers can be found locally. Honeslty these Hype brands just seemed designed to milk money out of you for what at the end of the day are very common services.
