I was in a bad car accident in December 2023 where my car was totaled and I broke my hand. Here it is 14 months later and I just got my settlement offer. I was shocked, hurt, sad and then mad when I saw that J & M's offer. Jacoby & Meyers is getting more than twice what they are offering me. I do realize I signed the contract that gave them 39.3% of my settlement but the extra $1300 they want is like adding insult to injury. Which by the way took over 4 months of treatment to recover. At first all was good with my case manager until my treatment was over in April 2024. We knew from early on that the person who hit me had no insurance but luckily I had uninsured motorist. I had not heard from my case manager for at least 4 months after my treatment ended. When I had not heard from you for 3 months I called my case manager to see what was up but I never heard from her only other people. I still have not heard from the case manager. I called her just a few days ago and she had another person call me back and they thought I was a new client, they did not even know what was up. When the offer was finally made I called and asked if it is common that the law firm gets more than double the client, I was told, "You are lucky, you could have gotten much less." That did not make me feel better or like I was taken care of. I see in my contract that you can get an additional $995 for paperwork but instead you charged me $1300. Which the money woman told me that your firm isn't charging me the $995 as is that is doing me a favor. The bottom line is I feel that I was overlooked, not taken care of and feel I was neglected by your firm. So all the ads you run are deceptive and your firm should have settled my case sooner and acted as if they cared for me, the client and not your bottom line. Or at least let your clients know that if your accident is caused by an uninsured motorist, you are out of luck. I wasn't looking for a big payout just to be made whole and compensated for my loss of income and pain and suffering, which I was not.
