People leaving comments or wanting to leave comments here about not having a positive experience? I am currently a reservist in the Montreal region working in an area not related to recruiting. My role has pretty much been an on-demand position Canada wide since I have joined. I have been serving Canada for more than 12 years now, full time and part time. Overall looking back it was one of the best life decisions I made and I wish I joined sooner. I remember back to when I was applying and in my case it actually took 1 whole year at the old recruiting location. Now things are much quicker than they were before as I heard from some recent recruits. The process overall is much smoother and that's the impression I get from those who I have asked. I have been to this particular location once to pick up some equipment and I must say in a lot of ways better and some ways worse. Overall I left the building with a positive impression. Everyone seemed respectful and I did not notice much out of the norm of what one would find in other parts of the Montreal region. I think the goal of the recruiting center aside from just trying to fill spots, is to be a showcase of an inclusive environment which we must all work to maintain regardless of where we serve. In the Montreal region there are members of all cultural backgrounds regularly speaking two, often three languages. To me "Diversity is Canada's Strength" isn't just another slogan... and as a member you will start to see that day to day throughout your career in the forces. If recent events are causing you to want to join the Canadian Forces to serve Canada, that's great! ...maybe the silver lining of our current situation. If your main complaint is that the recruiting office environment seemed a bit too Liberal, or Conservative, or Green, or NDP etc.. it is not any one political view, it is a neutral and impartial environment. One could argue that the only political view of the Canadian forces is a pro Canada view but that's as far as it goes. We have members of all political parties within the ranks and most who I have met or worked with in the Montreal region have mentioned privately of having what I would call very centrist views and seem understanding of different perspectives which is a good thing. If you're joining you have to be willing to put your own personal politics aside and be willing to defend all Canadians even those who you may privately disagree with, regardless of where you serve. Keep that in mind throughout the recruiting process and your career. Good luck.

I came here in June 2024 just to drop off my documents and apply for the military. Let me tell you that I didn’t like being there at all period. I was not satisfied being there Due to the personnel. I feel like they were there for the money and not serving our country like the true armed forces. Here's why… Pros: A) The Office is brand new as they moved recently from Saint-Catherine street. B) When Coming into the new building It feels nice and they have a nice videoboard to promote the CAF. C) Its in downtown and close to the Metros. Location is good. Cons: A) The Forces when I went there feel like they were there for a job and not because they want to serve our Country. B) I was dissastified most of the people there don't even care about being there and felt like you were not welcome. C) No respect to me not anyone even though I saw many soldiers, navy personels etc. They look like they knew everything and some were rude to me especially since I wanted to use the Bathroom during a waiting period. D) The facility was not the best nor good as it’s close to the boulevard and you need to make it sound proof during presentations. Conclusion: After I left the facility I said thanks to them and it’s like they did not even acknowledge it. Or they were like yeah whatever. Its sad that the Liberal Party and most similar parties are doing this our men and women in the forces. It’s just not right. Back then are forces were much stronger and the world took us more seriously and we cared for the protection of our country. Now it’s gone in a heartbeat. I wanted to join but now seeing this and experiencing this. I was dissastified about this Country and the people who are there. I think I will not join until we get a brand new Leader and a party who truly cares about Canada the protection of citizens and the military. God Bless the Men and women and Uniform but I’m hoping God will restore our defence under the new leadership. And we need a leader who loves and cares for Canada. God Bless the true and honest Canadian Armed Forces. In God we Trust forever and always.
