» Customer Experiences:
On the evening of July 23 I made a visit to this store location in search of some specific clothing items. Nothing unusual as I had frequented this store in the past and made purchases. All who know of this store would know that it is not a busy store as it would more so attract patrons who live in and around the area- that being me. On this visit I was in an area of store that had at the same time 2 other women and myself; one to my left perusing a rack and one to my right doing the same. And then there’s me in the middle doing the same. Not long after, one of the store attendants came to the area and inquired of the woman on my left if she was ok and finding all that she wanted. Then the attendant moved past me (in the middle) and asked the same thing of the woman on my right. This activity took me by surprise and I waited to see if the attendant would eventually inquire the same of me. The attendant proceeded to bustle up and down from the front cash area to the back where the 3 of us were and not once in the 15 mins I was there did she look to my assistance. As soon as the incident occurred I was going to leave the store but I deliberately hung around for another 7 mins to see if she would come around to me- thinking she was perhaps giving me some more time to peruse before coming to me. Well that never happened!! I then honed in on her with a gaze to catch her attention and walked to her to be greeted by her comment…”You look like you have a question for me?!” It was at that point I stated categorically to her what she did and could only shake my head in utter disbelief. She attempted to apologize… with no reasoning of course cause there’s none! Other than “sorry” for ignoring you. As I walked out of the store feeling deflated she called after me saying “it was not intentional”. Even if it wasn’t intentional, what does this say for your customer service to overlook one patron in plain sight over 2 others?! Honestly I can’t help but think more to this as far as feeling discriminated against as all I would add is that other than all 3 of us patrons searching for women’s clothing, I would be classified of a different ethnicity. I truly left feeling confused and saddened by this experience - be it either a conscious or unconscious bias or just plain poor judgement of what should have been proper customer service, I will NO longer be patronizing the company Reitmans. P.S Sorry I can’t give a zero rating!
It's a nice and well-maintained store. They have great selections of active wear, jeans, tops, skirts, dresses and shorts. Petite, regular and plus sizes are available. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, but sometimes they are impatient with the customers. Other than that, I always enjoy checking new arrivals and sales items. You can find really great deals when the sale is on.
I didn't realize they sell large sizes. Amazing Staff. Very helpful!
