Dr. Margolies is just so good at what she does. When I first started seeing her in high school, I wasn't sure what to expect, but over the years she's helped me work through many different aspects of my life from a complicated relationship with a parent to managing my time better. There's no issue that feel too small to talk about with her. Dr. Margolies balances validation and empathy with honesty so well - I always leave a session feeling very listened to and validated (never shamed or judged) but at the same time knowing what behaviors/patterns I need to keep working on & with a more realistic assessment of a situation. It helps me that she holds me accountable for falling back into old behaviors or taking the easy way out of situations. I am now able to hold myself to a higher standard of healthier behavior outside of sessions. I feel very fortunate to have the support of such a knowledgeable, kind, and empathetic professional who makes sessions feel so safe and liberating!

Doctor Margolies has been a tremendous help to me in getting a handle on a lot of anxieties and difficulties I have faced. She has a very straight up approach but is also caring. She worked with where I was at and what I wanted to do, but held me accountable, not letting me get away with making excuses or deceiving myself. Because of this, I have confronted and dealt with head-on many harsh truths and things I was in denial about before. She has helped me be more in control with my habits and understand the root causes. I cannot thank and recommend Doctor M enough to young men like myself or anyone.

I have been working with Dr Margolies over a number of years. She has helped me better understand myself in light of my upbringing. I now can see why I react and how best to respond to the many relationships in my life. She specifically helped me navigate an incredibly difficult time with one of my children. She also taught me to set better boundaries in my family of origin. All of my relationships are healthier due to her counseling and I am more at peace in my own skin. Dr Margolies’ extensive knowledge and experience have been invaluable to me. I cannot recommend her enough.

Creative, insightful, kind, warm, knowledgeable, intellectual, empathetic. These are some of the qualities I appreciate about Dr. Lynn Margolies. She has been incredibly helpful to me in many ways. She helped me to parent my two sons while they were teenagers and continues to help me as I enjoy an adult relationship with them. I first contacted her after reading one of her columns about the over-emphasis on achievement for achievement's sake that pervades much of parenting today. It was so refreshing and helpful to read her clear, precise, astute and timely views on issues we face as parents. Later I sought her out for help with my own depression and anxiety. I understand myself better because of her insight and also have effective coping strategies. She is helping me to reach my potential, and that is invaluable.
