The entire experience of buying a unit in the new LJM Tower on Barton Street East, Hamilton has been so disappointing. I hugely regret buying my unit back in fall of 2019. I got my keys on July 7, 2025. Their lawyer is horrendous, as my lawyer had incredible difficulty getting any response from them. My deal was to close the Thursday before, got a call that their lawyer stalled, and on the Friday my lawyer notified me the deal was done. I went on the Monday afternoon to collect my keys at the Burlington office where the receptionist was aghast I was there as “my deal was not done”. After another buyer directly called THEIR lawyer, then by miracle we were given our one key fob. The condo had not been cleaned as apparently I was meant to tell someone that I had my key and then they would arrange cleaning. Power tools were left in my unit, it was coated in drywall dust and the walls had hundreds of drywall compound drips that I had to sand off myself before painting with actual quality paint. Walls had a single coat of ceiling paint sprayed on, with sections of the ceiling missed completely. My door was damaged on both the inside and out (since painted in sub-par but pick your battles fashion). My door orientation was changed but they felt that was no issue, though you now enter into the side of the fridge and not the room. My upgraded dishwasher was not installed (suspect another unit enjoyed that upgrade, this was eventually rectified). The kitchen backsplash was installed in the incorrect orientation. Section of baseboard cut over six inches short. Kitchen island kick plate missing. The list goes on. Basically, if you’re looking to invest in new construction condos (or any existing condo), look elsewhere. They made me feel like because I bought a one-bedroom my unit wasn’t worth their time. The client facing team, being Adeena, who doesn’t know what a counter-depth fridge is, and an overwhelmed Sabrina, who seems to be doing the work of four people, need in depth customer service and project management training. I would never recommend LJM and have regretted this hugely. Steer clear.

AWFUL COMPANY. My lady purchased a condo in 2021 that this developer was said to be building located in Hamilton. They were to break ground in 2023. It’s now 2026 and nothing has been started. They should be ashamed of themselves.

My first investment with the worst developer. Their lawyer doesn't answer any emails. The lawyer only provided an interim occupancy checklist document 5 days before. There is not enough time to process and understand the checklist. It's like a one-way contract. LJM Development changed condo price by saying square footage is increasing after construction but fails to provide drawing showing where the increase square footage is. Provide only one fob for entry to building, and second fob is extra to purchase. Communication with builders is also poor. Do not recommend investing or buying your home with this builder.
