You can find both new and old classics. A book title that could represent the store is The Cat and the Curmudgeon. The woman caring for the IG famous cat treats customers like they're in her way. And no matter where you are in the store somehow she needs to be right there. A couple of girls came in, clearly interested solely in getting photos for social media. They were very rude so it's understandable that the shop proprietor (?) wasn't overly friendly but it made us leave without making a purchase.
This is the actual New York bookstore (both inside and out) from the first season of the Netflix show “You”… aka Mooney’s bookstore. As is always the case with TV, the real shop is remarkable smaller than you might expect and also has two resident cats 🐈⬛🐈 You’ll be pleased to know, there is no basement, but there is a good selection of books to peruse. I have found some of my favourite books in here just by browsing for a half hour. A really interesting and eclectic selection. Plus, it looks and feels like a proper old fashioned NYC bookstore, including cats!
