Scott and MaKenady Construction gave us the renovation experience of our dreams. He came to us through a referral, and I would refer him to anyone else in a heartbeat (and have just reached out to him to do some more work - this time in our kitchen). We did a significant basement renovation that included: a full bathroom, a kitchenette, a legal bedroom, a hidden playroom behind a custom swinging bookcase, a reading nook under the stairs, and a gas fireplace with custom shelving, as well as replacing and moving our furnace and hot water tank. Scott brought everything a great contractor should: he cared about our money as much (if not more) than we did; he kept his promises, showing up every day along with his crew; he has decades of experience and has a keen eye for detail; he has an amazing network of tradespeople who were all friendly, knowledgeable and did impeccable work; and he helped us navigate the difficult decisions in a way that allowed us to make the most of our money, without making us do it his way - ensuring we ended up with something that we are very excited about and works for our family.

We had MaKenady Construction renovate the main floor of our home by removing a load bearing wall and replacing it with a recessed beam. To accomplish this, they had to reroute HVAC supply and cold air return lines, plumbing water supply lines, plumbing drain lines and vents and of course electrical. They needed to access our finished basement ceiling cavities in order to reroute HVAC. All of this was done to accommodate our new kitchen, remodeled main floor bathroom and new, larger foyer closet. Scott and his team were on the job 5 days a week and 8 hours a day until the job was complete and we were 100% satisfied. They were on budget and on time with the reno. They worked with us from the start to design and implement ideas and were very accommodating and understanding to changes we needed to make in the design along the way. The result was a beautifully finished main floor, a basement that was left looking as good or better than before they arrived and a surprisingly stress free and smooth process from beginning to end which took less than 3 months. I would not hesitate to recommend Scott and MaKenady Construction Services to anyone and am proud to show off their work to all of my family and friends. Scott is our go-to trusted contractor! We first used his company 6 years ago to expand our kitchen by removing a support wall. He coordinated with the engineer and town for permits, taking a lot of stress off of us. As with all large projects, we encountered unexpected challenges but Scott is always quick to find a solution and instill confidence, and he helped us achieve the kitchen we'd been dreaming of. Scott has proven to be honest, trustworthy, and caring. We had him back again this year to fully upgrade our master bathroom and we couldn't be happier with the outcome! I may not have known it at the time, but when I first contacted Scott Guillot from MaKenady Construction Services Inc., this turned out to be a great phone call. I had a house fire that completely gutted my home with a legal basement apartment. For 2 years, the contractor that the insurance company hired left me hanging with a shingled roof that leaked, windows that where installed crooked and several failed inspections. Finally after 2 years, the insurance company allowed me to find my own general contractor, because nothing was getting done or was done wrong. Did I mention that I am also a senior citizen. After meeting Scott and his construction crew, he was quick to provide an estimate and promised that the work would get done and I could move back in 4 months. After everything I went through with the last contractor, I was very hesitant in trusting another contractor. Scott told me that MaKenady Construction Services Inc. was named after his daughter Makena and his son Kenady and that these names stood for commitment and reliability. Well Scott and his crew proved themselves right. Another good thing was that I never had to talk to anybody else about my home. If I had any problems or concerns, I would talk to Scott and he would take care of the problem. They completed the insulation, the drywall, the kitchens, the bathrooms, the heating, the air conditioner, the electrical, the stairs, etc. They took care of re-engaging with the city inspectors as they also had a negative experience with the other contractor. I wish I would have known about Scott before the house fire, because then I would have known that I had nothing to worry about and that I would be back home soon enough.
