Makin Wellness | Pennsylvania Online Therapy & Counseling

Makin Wellness is a professional and friendly practice that works to get you the help you're seeking. They're easy to communicate with and always answer my questions. My only disappointment with Makin Wellness is that they didn't take my new insurance, so I was really sad to have to end my time with them. My therapist, Rachael, is extremely open, warm, educated, and upholds all the gold standards of therapy. I've enjoyed my time with her and found therapy to be extremely beneficial. I highly recommend this practice and their well-selected therapists!!!

Appointment was confirmed through email 3 different times. Insurance info was given in painful detail. Messages were sent via text message during working hours and considered scam, and honestly reading the messages they seem like a scam. Appointment was booked through ZocDoc but apparently not manually through their system, even though the appointment was confirmed 3 separate times and video link had been shared for over 4 days. Office texted to cancel the appointment less than 24 hours notice after I had already taken off to ensure I could attend the appointment. Practitioner also listed available appointment times, however when you read the fine print, it showed that they would be supervising as other therapists worked those sessions after 5pm. Major red flags for me and would not recommend to new patients seeking someone trained in this industry, coming from someone who also works in behavioral health.

This place seemed promising at first, but sadly, it left me feeling disappointed and in my own head even more than before. I’m not sure if it was due to a lack of organization or lack of care, but after I asked to switch therapists—following a moment where the therapist questioned whether I was "bringing something up just to have something else to talk about"—I never heard back. (Not only is that unprofessional, but girl seriously? You think I want to chat for fun in this economy???) My care specialist stopped reaching out after I shared what I was looking for in a therapist and didn’t respond when I followed up for an update. I tried calling the office multiple times to figure out what was going on but never received any follow-up. As of today, my status in their system still shows as active, even though I haven’t heard from anyone in months. If I had the choice, I would have never tried this place out so this experience wouldn’t have stuck with me for as long as it did. *I want to emphasize, however, that this is just my personal experience and doesn’t reflect the practice or therapists as a whole. This is not to deter anyone reading this from seeking help. I was just unfortunate in my situation and wanted to share it in case anybody else went through similar. Thankfully, I’ve found a therapist elsewhere since then, and have began my healing process with them.
