Unsure why there are so many good reviews. My family’s unit has been fraudulently listed on their website supposedly since 2018 as one of their listings. The unit was purchased in 2016 and has been occupied since then. Never rented out, never put up for sale. This brokerage and agent listed on their site for this unit had nothing to do with the sale. I’m guessing this was done to make their portfolio look more impressive. We have no idea who this person and company are. Shame on you, Gea Elika.

I purchased an Upper East Side coop as a first time buyer using Elika, with Denise Thirkill as my agent. Denise was patient and professional, and very responsive, showing me properties around Harlem, East Harlem and the Upper East Side for about 3 months (including one offer that I ended up backing out of) before I finally found the one. Denise and the Elika team did a phenomenal job, negotiating $50k under asking on not one, but two fixer upper estate properties in the course of my search. I felt that I ended up with a really great value at the end of the day. Denise was able to guide me through the coop board application and interview process seamlessly, which included assembling an old-school binder of materials of which six copies had to be made, as well as a personal statement. There came a point where the ball was nearly dropped between the bank, the seller's agent, and the managing agent about scheduling a firm closing date and time, but Denise went to work getting everyone on track to ensure that the closing went forward on time. Even my attorney commented on how much work Denise did behind the scenes to ensure that everything moved ahead. Denise also accompanied me through the final walk through of the unit and discovered an electrical problem that I was able to have addressed in the closing. I truly could not have asked for a better agent to guide me through my first home purchase. Denise was absolutely phenomenal.

I recently purchased a condo in NY using Elika, with Amy Rivers as my agent, and I couldn't recommend her more. I started looking on a Tuesday and wound up putting an offer in that Friday, closing two months later almost to the day. She gave me a great list of initial properties, helped me sort through exactly what I wanted, suggested important things I hadn't considered, helped to prioritize, and was always immediately accessible for all of my many questions. Since I'm in CA it was a little difficult to schedule viewings but Amy made it easy. Once my offer was accepted Amy helped me navigate the sometimes-labyrinthine approval process, and again as a CA resident some of these NYC details really needed some navigating. Every step of the way, from helping me out with a final walkthrough I couldn't be there for to details even after closing about getting keys, utilities, etc, Amy was always there smoothing the way. Buying property is never easy but Amy made the whole process about as painless as it possibly could have been, I wouldn't hesitate to work with her again and I recommend her unreservedly.
