Massage Addict Pickering

I really hate to leave a negative review, but unfortunately, my experience today was extremely disappointing. I booked a massage expecting professional care and therapeutic relief, but what I received didn’t come close. From the start, the session felt more like a light touch than an actual massage. There was little to no pressure applied, and I experienced no relief from the areas I specifically mentioned were bothering me. My therapist, Mia, spent nearly 20 minutes just warming up the tissue, which is excessive and ineffective, especially for a standard session. I clearly requested focused work on my upper back and shoulders, yet she spent time rubbing lotion on my legs — with no pressure or intention. It honestly felt like I paid $135 just to have someone apply cream to my body. I could have easily asked my partner to do that at home for free. As a massage therapy student myself, I found her technique and professionalism lacking. Her draping was non-existent — no proper tucking or adjustment of the sheet during the session. Most concerning was when she asked me to flip over: she removed the sheet entirely and looked away while I turned over, which is absolutely not the correct or professional way to handle draping. I didn’t come into this expecting perfection, but I did expect a professional massage. Sadly, this was not it. I hope this feedback helps improve the training and standards at this establishment.

The positives: Customer service at the front desk, very easy to book using their online tool The negatives: My masseuse started a few minutes late but still finished at the hour mark (meaning I lost a few minutes of massage time I paid for), there were a few times where the masseuse stopped the massage for a minute or so and I'm not sure why. Felt like she could have been checking a phone or checking the time. I indicated my problem areas being my neck and shoulders on multiple forums - the intake form, verbally to the masseuse before we started, once during the massage when I realized a lot of time was being spent on the legs - and that was, for the most part, ignored. I tried massage addicts because I recently moved and my previous clinic is quite far, but I would not recommend it moving forward in all honesty. Overall, the massage felt rushed and I didn't really feel listened to.. like the masseuse was uninterested and looking forward to moving on to the next customer.

I recently relocated to Pickering and have visited Massage Addict twice now, and I couldn’t be happier to have found such an excellent therapist. Vindra is consistently amazing, she’s attentive, professional, and truly skilled at what she does. Her pressure and technique are absolutely perfect, providing both relaxation and effective relief. She intuitively knows where to focus and makes sure every session leaves me feeling refreshed and completely satisfied. I highly recommend both this clinic and Vindra for anyone looking for outstanding massage therapy.
