Mayo Dental Family Dentistry

I am so thankful to the friend who recommended Mayo Dental to me. I've never felt more welcomed and at ease in a dental clinic. When you're there, you don't feel like you're just another number. Everyone on the staff makes you feel like you're old friends. They greet you by name without having to ask and they remember little personal details that you might have discussed 6 months prior at your last check up. They give off the friendly neighborhood dental office vibe while also utilizing the latest dental technology so that you receive the best care possible. If I'm ever asked for a dental recommendation, this is the place that I send everyone.

If I could give 0 stars for Mayo Dental I would. I was there for a check in and cleaning. They said they had to do x-rays which I was fine with. I did the x rays with a nice dental assistant. I then was prodded for about 20 minutes so hard my gums were bleeding so bad. I was crying and she said they were bad - then came back and said not that bad just need to do scaling. I couldn't do the scaling today so I sat in the chair with bloody gums (they never cleaned my mouth out). Then took more x rays where the plastic scratched up the bottom of my mouth. I was crying and they gave me a tissue. Then was waiting for my cleaning which they told me they weren't going to do. So the thing I came in for, they didn't do and I left with bloody gums. Also there was a dog walking around which; I love dogs but doesn't feel very sanitary. I really had a horrible experience and cried all the way home. Never felt this way after a dentist.

Caution- Mayo dental will comment on this comment and say we are no longer patients at the practice just to cover themselves. We are no longer patients due to the rudeness and unprofessionalism we experienced by Autumn. The dentists and clinical personnel were very nice and respectful. My husband and I went to Mayo dental for the first time. We had to go to this office since our insurance had changed and this was one of the practices that were in network with our insurance. Our dental cleaning had been up to date with our previous dentist. We just had to switch because of our insurance. We were there for regular cleaning, exam and checkup X-rays and thats it. I made that VERY clear from the moment I made that appointment. The dentist asked me if I want to do full mouth X-rays or panoramic I told him no because my xrays were up to date with our previous dentist. The dentist also asked if our xrays were within 3 years with the previous office which they were. The dentist said since they are within 3 yrs then we can just transfer them over and I said ok. The dentist was nice. The dental assistants were nice and professional. There is just this one person named Autumn was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was misinforming my husband telling him full mouth X-rays have to be done every 6 months. When the dentist corrected her, she changed her story saying full mouth Xrays have to be done as new patients- which is not true and not clinically sound. I asked her if she was a dentist and she completely ignored my question. She was running her mouth the entire time she was checking us out. She was verbally very aggressive. Needless to say we will NEVER go back.
