The day we put my father on hospice was the day I took (with my parents permission) their trust to Karla McAlister. My parents had had their trust prepared by another attorney/CPA. My mother asked me to take her trust to Karla to have Karla look it over and make sure everything was in it. We attend church with the McAlister’s and they are trusted friends with my parents. Karla was very kind to look over the trust and she noticed that some things were missing. We found out that the person who prepared my parents trust used a formula that was “one size fits all“, but that’s not how it should go! Every trust is unique and because of the thoroughness of McAlister, McAlister and Nicholas, they were able to fix the irrevocable trust. When looking for an attorney to help with irrevocable trusts, you need to look for someone who is very quick to listen to you, someone who is not rushed, someone who is thorough when digging into your financial assets (assets are different for everyone), and someone who has all the staff needed to get the job done for you. Well! That’s McAlister, McAlister and Nicholas!
We contacted Lloyd for estate planning purposes. He first left us sitting in his conference room for an unusual amount of time with barely a comment. He did not review previous documents prior to our meeting. He was completely unprepared. We tried to go over every detail and he said he would contact us the next day, and told us the entire project would be completed within 3 weeks. After two weeks I contacted him and he has no recollection that he would contact us, & then stated that his employee who writes the documents would be on vacation and would put it out another three weeks. We lost confidence that he would follow through. Since then we hired another attorney and realized he was not thorough in his discovery. This only my opinion. Others may have success with him.
