I came to the Langley MEC store and attempted to return a bike pump that was having an issue after a few years. The supervisor/manager came over and quickly dismissed me, stating that as it was a few years old, so they would not replace it under the "Rock Solid Guarantee" that MEC so proudly plasters all over their website and advertisements. I would expect a bike pump to last more than a few years, especially when it has not been damaged or abused. The supervisor/manager said the best they could do was offer me a new pump at 20%, which even taking into account the discount was more expensive than what I paid for the original pump. To make matters worse, the store lost a piece of the pump when they was "inspecting" it, rendering the pump completely unusable now after I came home. I reached out to MEC directly (Service Centre). They didn't do much and said to try and look for spare parts, but no parts are available for the pump. Otherwise, I would have purchased a replacement part if there was a part available instead of having to replace the entire pump. When I pointed this out, the MEC Service Centre never got back to me. Not a very good experience at the Langley store at all, similar to what other reviewers have indicated with returning defective items. I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars at MEC in the last year and bit, and probably many more thousands before that. I never return anything, so this whole experience was a surprise to me being a loyal customer. I will be shopping elsewhere now as the traditional high level of customer service is gone at MEC.

I brought my bicycle in for a tuned up and was approached by a staff right away who directed me to the bike shop. The customer service was great! At the bike department, Simarjit helped me with different options of bike tune-up packages after he did a thorough visual inspection. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. My bike felt like it was brand new after the tune-up! I would recommend the bike shop here to anyone who is either looking for a new bike or simply just want to utilize the repair/maintenance services.

Great Quality Gear for camping. Works well. Prices are on the higher side but you get what you pay for sometimes. Staff are really helpful and its a great place never an issue here.

MEC never disappoints. All staff are friendly and ready to help you with your adventure needs. I went in recently to get my first road bike fitted and Andrew at Bike Services was so passionate and helpful it made me even more excited to go for a ride! Wish all stores had as lovely people as MEC.
