This is a pretty decent company and yes I'm not making the money I did when first came but I also came during covid19 but I still did 200k for 2024 year The only problem that I Have is these brokers take Forever to dispatch you on a load. Especially when you're trying to plan your week out and there's really no one you can talk to on the weekends.

EDITED to 2 stars since Mercer replied reminding me 3 good years should account for something. And yes some owner operators do successfully profit here. I won't get into speculation as to why certain people are able to do so well consistently. Been here 4 years. Last 8 months have been the worst tho. Steady decline in loads and rates to below acceptable levels. They still hiring like crazy though, even when they can't keep their current drivers busy. They have a ton of cheap freight. See picture for load board rates. Mercer people are very nice on the phone, the agents are a bit two-faced and love to pull stunts with the load descriptions, but the coordinators are good people. Their ability to accept and book $1 a mile freight with a straight face takes skill. What it comes down to it for me is the market is down, rates are down, contractors are struggling, and Mercer is still hiring like mad, still promising good rates. The message that sends to current contractors is a clear one.

Driver did damage and didn't stay/call/leave a note or anything.. even though we opened less than 15 mins from incident. Our business name and phone are at our entrance and our door.

Was denied employment at Mercer because of a wreckless driving ticket I received back in 2004. That's the only ticket I ever had. At first the recruiter told me it was back in 2014 but when I told her that's incorrect she quicky became irritated and said "I mean 2004, but you are still disqualified". If this is a new policy, good luck on getting new drivers.
