When I first connected Michelle Damico for mentorship, I was still very new to the US PR landscape. I knew my fundamentals, but still had a lot to learn about pitching in a new media environment. The shift came with a lot of challenges and, honestly, some self-doubts. Michelle’s guidance not only helped me sharpen my strategy, but it also gave me the second wind I needed to go after my aspirational outlets, and eventually land them. But beyond the PR wisdom (which, of course, is already incredibly valuable in and of itself), what stays with me on a personal level are Michelle’s encouragements. With every tactical insight came a reminder that I CAN do this — that my skills are solid and that I had no reason to hesitate. That kind of reassurance leaves a lasting impact, especially when you're navigating new territory. On top of all that, she makes time for me despite the time zone difference all the way from the Philippines. And the fact that she does all this gratis? That just speaks volumes about the kind of person she is — generous, supportive, and truly invested in helping others succeed. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn from her.
