Our family has been going to Midwest Physical therapy for over 15 years. They have been excellent for any number of chronic and acute issues of feet, back, neck, shoulders, even TMJ. The office staff work hard to accommodate your schedule to get your needs met. Jim and Nancy give great suggestions for modifications to exercises and equipment so that you can make progress. During Covid, I have felt extremely safe in their environment. I recommend their services without reservation.

Midwest Physical Therapy is THE best PT I've ever had. I was introduced to Jim by a friend (also a PT) who said to me, "What you need is a manual physical therapist." I had broken my calcaneus and after 3 1/2 months of non-weight bearing in a boot and being on crutches, the transition to walking again was tough. I still consider Jim to be the "heel whisperer". I'm an active senior and their office quickly accommodates my needs and offers great therapy and support whenever I have an issue. Manual therapy is very different, but in my opinion completely key to maintaining an active lifestyle. Great experience!

My daughter has been going to Midwest Physical Therapy for over a year now. The staff has been very helpful to keep her healthy for high school athletics. In addition to personalized exercises to make her stronger, she has been fitted for orthotics. Dry needling has also worked very well for her. The staff are keeping safety in mind while treating patients. I would highly recommend Midwest Physical Therapy!

I have experienced several physical therapy groups in different locations across Iowa. Midwest Physical Therapy stands out as the best by far. First, the attention to detail is extraordinary. Parking is always available directly outside of the front door (which is especially important if you are trying to navigate with crutches or a walker). The facility itself is warm and welcoming. Patients are greeted by name and IMMEDIATELY ushered to a private room with fresh sheets, pillows, and dimmer switches on the lights. The Physical Therapists are prompt and attentive. They begin every session with thoughtful inquiries about the patient’s condition, pain level, and progress since the last session. They then carefully tailor the session to suit the individual patient’s needs. The therapist gives laser-like focus to the patient’s movements, posture, alignment, and pain level. You will not receive a “one size fits all” approach here. My therapy included soft tissue work, carefully planned and monitored exercises, dry needling, and assigned homework for in between sessions. I started my rehabilitation (from a hamstring surgery) in August of 2021 with a different PT group in Iowa City. For two months, I made little progress and became increasingly frustrated as my PT seemed unwilling to consult the rehab protocol I’d been given or to make changes when his approach was not working. When I switched to Midwest PT, my therapy changed dramatically and my functionality increased exponentially within the first few weeks. I had finally found a team with a broad and deep skill set – a team as invested in my recovery as I was. I highly recommend Midwest Physical Therapy to anyone looking for an A+ experience.
