Shop selection and layout is nice, rating 1 star because I didn't have any experience to shop, now to clarify I did wear a big coat and hat on the windiest day of the year so I am guilty of that, However as soon as me and my partner walked into the shop I was watched and hovered over by the staff every area I went and targeting me plainly. So much so on the way out I had other customers comment to me that they were "watching me". Now I work in a shop in the area I know there is a problem with theft in Worcester but I'm unsure if it was my accent or how I looked but instantly I was judged, most ironic thing is they had what I wanted but I fell so uneasy that I didn't buy anything, Young guy with beard and long moppy hair was worst offender made my girlfriend feel very uncomfortable honestly have some lessons with dealing with the public.

I do love supporting small and independent businesses, but I struggle to find the words to recommend Monkee Business based on the worst experience of customer service I’ve had in a long time when trying to return a faulty Pop Funko figurine. To clarify, I bought the item the previous week and had the receipt on my person. I approached a staff member, explained the situation and asked if I could return the item for a refund as it was faulty, which is stated on the receipt as “defective or faulty products are eligible for a refund”. The first staff member said they didn’t know what to do in this situation and would have to ask a colleague. The woman I was speaking to, who I assume is the manager, first tried to bend the truth by saying that there was nothing wrong with the product and that the defect was part of the design, and that they could only offer a gift voucher. I refuted this and showed her the same figure that I had bought in another store earlier that day. After this was shown, they then refused to issue one because I didn’t ask for an exchange first before buying elsewhere. This reasoning is completely absurd and goes against their own return policy. This woman started to become defensive and argumentative, and then said the most farfetched accusation I’ve ever heard, stating that I bought a non defective product here, and then went to another store, bought a defective one, and then returned to this store to demand a refund. The reason in which that plan makes sense eludes me.. I explained that I’d already bought a replacement product elsewhere because their shelves didn’t contain any duplicates so I assumed that they didn’t have any stock left (and the shop was too busy for me to ask a staff member at the time) and thought I’d get one elsewhere and come back at the end of the day when it’s quieter and get a refund on the original one. This explanation wasn’t accepted, even after I tried to explain that their policy doesn’t say I can only ask for a refund if I haven’t bought an item from a competitor. At the end of the day, it’s none of your business what I’ve bought from another shop, your item is faulty and I’m entitled to be compensated for it in the form of a refund. This all fell on deaf ears and instead of addressing the issue, she kept accusing me of dishonesty and insisted on only offering a gift voucher. Her tone was rude and dismissive, and she repeatedly questioned why I didn’t ask them about their stock before buying elsewhere. Monkee Business clearly doesn’t stand by their own return policy, and the staff were unprofessional and accusatory. I left feeling frustrated and upset after giving up trying to reason with the staff, it was like talking to a brick wall. Avoid this store if you expect fair treatment and proper customer service.

Amazing customer service from two lovely staff at the Worcester store and lovely stuff I will be back
