Motel 6 Litchfield, IL

Sid, Percilla, Cecilla, Nidia, and Martha are awesome at the front desk. The tub shower combo is very comfortable to sit in and take a nice soak. I feel safe sleeping here, and parking my car. There are plenty of restaurants near by. The local mall is just basically across the street. There are two washers and two dryers on the second floor if you need to do laundry. The ice a machine ice is always fresh tasting. If staying a few days and you have the mini refrigerator there is and ADLI, Fresh Thyme, and Dollar Tree within less than a three minute drive. I had a bit of a stay, at this location, and had to have a few items delivered here, and the staff happily held them for me when I returned to “my home away from home.” With this being a basic hotel, the staff make feel like I am staying at a resort. If I could give this location a TEN star review I would. Please consider staying here. Oh, plus only a forty minute drive to Chicago in non-rush hour traffic.

I have had to spend some time here at this location. Sid, Martha, Priscilla, Nadia, and Cecilia at the front desk are great. The housekeeping staff do a great job cleaning the room when I need a cleaning. I always felt safe for myself and my car. This location is close to an ALDI, a mall with a movie theatre, plenty of restaurants, a Costco, Dollar Tree, Binny’s Liquor and a big gas station. The laundry is on second floor. A there are two washers and two dryers. A load cost $3.25. The beds are comfortable, along with the two pillows. These two pillows were extra for me because I always travel with my own pillow for a good nights sleep.

I Called the Police — and I Was the One Treated Like a Criminal I stayed at this Motel 6 in Joliet, IL for over a month during an extended stay. Despite it being listed as pet-friendly, I was suddenly targeted and told I had to leave because my dog was “too aggressive.” My dog never attacked or harmed anyone — he simply ran toward another dog once to play. Meanwhile, other guests with loud, aggressive pets were allowed to remain without issue. But that was just the beginning. For weeks, I was denied basic room service. I had to check out and recheck in just to get clean towels. I felt like I had to beg just to be treated like a paying guest. The hotel is filthy and unsafe: The third and second floors smell heavily of marijuana Guests openly smoke indoors There are homeless individuals sleeping in the halls The back door is always unlocked, creating a serious security risk Sex trafficking and solicitation are obvious — contractors staying there even approached me asking for massages in exchange for cash When I finally stood up for myself and called the police to report what I believed to be discrimination, I was treated worse: The officer refused to file a report I was searched without a female officer Handcuffed in front of my children And given a ticket for "obstruction" — just for speaking up This entire experience was traumatizing. I’ve seen worse behavior ignored at this hotel — including drug use, violent arguments, and illegal activity — but I was the one punished. Motel 6 should be ashamed for allowing this to happen, and so should local law enforcement for siding with them instead of protecting the public. If you’re a person of color, a single woman, or a parent, I urge you to think twice before staying here. This place is not safe. It is unprofessional, discriminatory, and completely neglectful.
