My Buddy the Plumber, Electric, Heating & Air

We had a pretty awful experience with My Buddy the Plumber, and it has just been causing problem after problem for years afterward. A few years ago we had a leak in our main water line and found that it needed to be replaced. After getting a few quotes, we decided to go with My Buddy the Plumber. We had worked with My Buddy before, but it was mostly minor stuff. As it turns out, they probably weren't qualified to replace a main water line. They came out and dug up the old line, and in the process, they struck the gas line. It could've caused an explosion if we hadn't happened to be right there outside at the exact moment they hit it. We had to evacuate the entire block and wait for the fire department to come and repair the gas line and clear us for reentry. As it turns out, My Buddy the Plumber was supposed to get a surveyor to come and mark where the gas line was, but they just skipped that step. They even told us they knew they were supposed to do it and just didn't. They (obviously) comped the rest of the job for us, but we got the sense that they just wanted to rush out of there and be done with it (because the job was no longer making them any money). The whole thing left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Fast forward a few years, we've had a number of minor leaks in places where the main line ties into other areas, and now we have a major leak where the main line ties into the sprinklers. It was dumping 300 gallons per hour, so much water that the water company called us to see what was going on. We had My Buddy come back out to evaluate the leak. They said they wouldn't cover the cost of repairs, even though (according to multiple other bids) it was clearly due to a poor job replacing the main line the first time. My Buddy also ended up quoting us much higher than other plumbers, so we declined their services. They texted us nonstop for days afterwards, which was pretty annoying. "Did you make a decision yet on your project" and "We'd really like to move forward with your project" and all that. Sounded pretty insincere, considering it was My Buddy the Plumber's fault to begin with. The person who we ultimately hired to do the repair said the T-connection between the main line and the sprinklers wasn't supported correctly when it was done originally, so it was just bent at an angle underground, and that it was bound to fail at some point. We'd been losing 300 gallons/hour for days and we didn't know it, and it was 100% the fault of My Buddy the Plumber. They didn't admit fault and they didn't even offer us a discount. They did waive the "show up" fee, which apparently they charge for just coming out to look at a leak. We didn't even know about the fee until the technician said he wasn't going to charge us. I was grateful, but only barely. In the end, it was nightmare after nightmare with My Buddy the Plumber. They might be OK for minor jobs, but DO NOT hire them for anything more than a small leak. You might end up paying for it for years to come.

Tyler and Aiden were absolute life savers! They found the problem with my bathtub faucet quickly then Tyler went out of his way to MAKE me exactly what I wanted. They were professional, quick, honest, and completely open with me; all for a very reasonable price. I can’t express my gratitude enough! I know exactly who I’m calling for any future plumbing needs!

My Buddy the Plumber is awesome. We had a water line to our apartment building break during construction in the parking lot. My Buddy the Plumber came promptly after we called them and explained the situation. They gave us a very reasonable priced quote within an hour or two of visiting the site. They were able to come the next day and said they would have the water back on so the tenants wouldn’t have to go without water for very long, when other companies told us we’d be out of water for a week or more. Really good plumbing company that we will definitely use again in the future. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
