We were new residents, and uncovered a host of challenges after the purchase of our remodeled 1900 home, including some poor workmanship by that contractor, and a few things missed in sale inspection. Last winter brought us extreme low humidity alerts in our HVAC, shift and cracks, and pipes frozen, making our entire back addition and laundry unusable. Luckily, we had become established with the fine folks at My Old Kentucky Home Repair by then. The owners, Ethan and Derek, always respond with prompt and thoughtful analysis, realistic and patient explanations of recommendations, and clear written estimates of options and pricing. We have never once felt talked down to, pressured, or remotely uncomfortable with their crew (in fact marveling that having contractors in your home can actually feel… pleasant!) Quality of their materials and work is exceptional. We have been pleased with every single thing they have done for our property inside and out (and, to date, we have used them A LOT) — problem solving and crucial repairs, handyman jobs we didn’t have the time/tools or knowledge for, carpentry design and building, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC needs, assisting us with aesthetic choices, installations and placements, and coordinating arrangements for the (rare) things not in their immediate wheelhouse. Thanks to their work, this winter she sailed through even worse ice storms and temps with flying colors. A home is such an expensive and important investment. Knowing there’s just one call to make for reaching a trusted team ready to help us properly take care of it has meant everything.

Ethan and his team did a fantastic job putting my kitchen together after an undetected long-term dishwasher leak ruined the floor, cabinets, and drywall. We couldn't be happier with the results! He uses local suppliers and labor, so you can feel good about supporting our local economy. They also did electrical work and some miscellaneous work around my home.
