Customer service does not help and lies. They will tell you they are working on your claim and they are not but expect you to pay entire bill for lab work. They also do not cover Rx. Do not waste your money on this insurance, they hardly cover anything!
This is a horrific health insurance company! Canceled my policy January 6, along with my husband, and he received a letter in the mail a few days later confirming the cancellation. I was told I would be getting my premium of $425 back in 7-10 days. It has been three weeks and I still have no check. Every time I call them, they tell me either I'm not getting a refund because I never called, they need to "pull the recording of the call", or that person isn't available but they will "call right back." I am beyond frustrated and angry that they feel they can treat people this way, after YEARS of paying $900+ per month for insurance. What a joke! I will not back down and I will leave bad reviews everywhere I possibly can for this SCAM of a company!
This company is amazing! So much better than traditional insurance. The customer service you receive probably depends on your agent. The broker who signed us up is awesome! She answers my calls/texts night/day & answers all my questions. I highly recommend Gina Gibson for anyone in Texas. My family of 5 is currently uninsured (my husband is an independent contractor -works in IT). We have a concierge doctor and retain several policies with NE that cover accident, illness, catastrophic AND preventative care and prescriptions!! We have the BEST quality of care we have ever had all while paying HALF of what we did in premiums for traditional insurance. Paying cash prices wherever we go is a thousand times cheaper and much less headache than dealing with insurance, PLUS no one tells us where to go. None of this "Out of network" BS. For 4 years I kept thinking this was too good to be true; the real test would be when something big happened. This year 9 year old daughter broke both her arms this year in a bike accident. I was terrified and didn't know where to go on a Friday evening. She was in such pain my husband said we were taking her to the closest place. That happened to be an urgent care a few minutes from our house. By the time I got there Gina was on the phone with me talking me through it. She said we can go anywhere we want; just tell them we are cash pay and get a super bill to file a claim later. They referred us to a pediatric hospital for more X-rays and casting. After several weeks with many visits to two different facilities, ton of x-rays, a cast and two splints. We were just over $1,500 out of pocket. We then followed Gina's instructions and filed our claims with NE and received over $3,000 in checks to cover everything.. and then some. I never had to have my claims denied. Never had to call to beg and plead for hours to repeal their decisions. I pay my premium and when I need them, they take care of me. THIS IS WHAT INSURANCE SHOULD LOOK LIKE.
