great, the er was efficient, given pain meds and Iv within 1 hour arriving. Nurse and doctor from the er to the surgery room and floor nurse were all very kind and friendly
I really thought coming here was gonna be a better experience especially since google said this is the best place to go too for lupus. This emergency room should be ashamed of themselves. They suck. And i feel like i keep being brushed off. After telling them my symptoms and reasons why i came here. And on top of that they don’t pay mind to the seniors who can fall when they keep trying to get up 🤦🏼♀️ i hope if i get admitted its a better experience than the emergency room.
My father was diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer at this hospital in January 2024. At the time, aside from some difficulty opening his mouth, he was otherwise in good health and full of life. Sadly, he passed away in June 2024—just five months after starting treatment here. According to his death certificate, he died due to respiratory failure. But as someone who was by his side every step of the way, I truly believe his health rapidly declined after he began chemotherapy and radiation therapy—treatments that, given the severity and progression of his cancer, were unlikely to improve his condition. Yet, these were the treatments strongly advised by his medical team. I understand that every illness is complex and outcomes can be unpredictable. I also believe in God’s plan and that some things are simply beyond our control. But I also believe that in moments like these, the guidance and decisions made by doctors are critical. In my father’s case, I feel that he was given the wrong advice—treatments that did more harm than good. Watching him suffer through the side effects of aggressive therapy, only to lose him shortly after, was heartbreaking. I’m not a medical professional, and I don’t pretend to have all the answers. But I share this in the hope that it encourages reflection among those in the medical field. Please consider each patient’s quality of life and unique situation when offering treatment recommendations. Sometimes, the best care is not the most aggressive option—but the most compassionate one. This experience has been incredibly painful for our family, and I hope no one else has to endure the same.
The doctors and nurses worked wonders on my uncle. However communication with medical staff was not sufficient. I am his medical proxy and thought the physician would call when he was put in rehab. I have not been able to get in touch with my uncle. I spoke with Social worker who said he would get transferred to rehab no physician or npc call. The phone system is awful, so different than the DMV. You can't get a live person until many attempts and they seemed annoyed because the # online is to make an appt., not patient information. His second stay there his clothes and shoes were lost. I'm not sure if he was discharged or not. It's 8:30pm and now the recording says we are closed. I live in MD and worked in the medical field at GTU and JH hospital for 32 years. Retired from that and now part time inspection agent at JACO. I know how medical facilities should be run.
