I underwent left knee ACL reconstruction surgery at Prime Hospital - Al Garhoud in November 2022 under the care of Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sureen. Following the surgery, I completed six sessions of physiotherapy at the same hospital and an additional four sessions at Prime Medical Center - Deira. As a sportsperson, I had high hopes for a full recovery, especially since I had a similar ACL reconstruction surgery on my right knee in 2018 at SP Fort Hospital, Trivandrum, India, which was successful, and I was fully functional within six months. However, my recovery journey after this recent surgery has been disappointing. I consulted Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sureen again after 6–8 months due to difficulty running and pain during weightlifting. He advised that it would take a year to recover fully. I followed his advice and continued physiotherapy at home, but even now, over a year after surgery, I am unable to run fast or perform my usual workouts. This has severely impacted my athletic performance, leaving me dissatisfied and unsure of how to proceed. While I appreciate the initial care and guidance provided, the results have not met my expectations, especially as someone committed to sports. I hope this feedback helps others and prompts the hospital to address such concerns more effectively in the future.
