Customer experiences
Warm your belly and your hearts with Northern Cafe's food and amazing service. We were fortunate to be first round visitors arriving at 8:08am on a Saturday (long weekend) Parking was easy, and we followed a few people through the chainlink fence gate towards the creaky stairs. We were greeted by each front of house staffer - everyone was so kind! We had their cheese omelet, french toast platter, pancake platter, and eggs benny, and an order of their gyoza & ofc coffee. Prices are reasonable (in this economy) and meals are well seasoned and beyond hearty. The gyoza: savory, gingery porky goodness esp with a touch of soy & the in house chili sauce. I can see why its a must. Even at 8am. But where this cafe shines most is with their customer service. Our coffee mugs were never cold, our omlette order was easily accommodated (add onion & peppers), and smiles were given away freely everywhere you turn. A very nice Sr staffer greeted us and chatted a bit at our table and really all of our servers were genuinely kind and friendly. Happy Thanksgiving to the hardworking crew at this tucked away gem of a café.
Finally had the chance to check out @northerncafeandgrill. We were lucky enough to be between two waves of people so we barely had to wait. Service - super friendly and fast. It was like we went to eat at this canto uncle’s home. It was fun to watch some staff make wonton in the kitchen Food - the buttermilk pancakes were surprisingly fluffy! The portions were reasonable. The bun of the beef dip was nicely toasted. Overall delicious! Parking - street parking. Can be an issue if they are busy. There weren’t that many spots today It was a pretty good experience and I understood why many of my friends lined up for this place!
If you're looking for a breakfast spot that goes beyond the ordinary, Northern Cafe in Vancouver is an absolute must-visit. Tucked away in an unassuming location, this cozy café offers not only delicious food but also an unforgettable experience—largely thanks to the exceptional customer service. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Richard, who made us feel like family. He took the time to welcome us personally, shared the fascinating history of the cafe. It’s rare to find that level of genuine hospitality these days, and it truly set the tone for our entire visit. The menu offers a refreshing twist on the traditional breakfast—with a creative Asian fusion flair that works incredibly well. From perfectly cooked eggs and crispy hash browns to dishes infused with flavorful seasonings and unique ingredients, every bite was a treat. There’s something for everyone here, whether you're craving comfort food or looking to try something a little different. To top it all off, Richard kindly offered to take photos for us, capturing some great memories of our time there. It’s small gestures like these that really make a place stand out. Northern Cafe isn’t just a spot to grab a bite—it’s an experience, and one we won’t forget anytime soon. We're from Toronto, but can’t wait to come back!
Great experience. The food was great. The vibe is good. The waiters were very friendly as well. However. The Asian host with glasses. I don't know whats his issue. He was good with everyone but he never look at me when we speak...but extremely friendly with my friend.
Northern Cafe is a cafe.
