Our gas fireplace quit working during the atmospheric storm we had. We phoned Nova Heating and a nice technician named Ed or Eduardo showed up. He spread a sheet to keep the area clean and took a look to see if the pilot light was working. He explained that quite often strong winds coming down the chimney will blow out the pilot light. He proceeded to show me how if it happened again I could restart it myself. He then cleaned the glass, the artificial logs, vacuumed inside and tested for gas leaks. He really took time and care to give the best service. I was really impressed with the excellent service and would not hesitate to call Nova Heating again for any problems with our gas furnace, gas water heater or gas fireplace. - Lynne

With rental properties it is imperative that heating, electrical and plumbing problems are addressed promptly. Nova Heating has never let me down. Recently a furnace broke down and Nova unfortunately could not visit the same day as they usually do so I phoned a supposedly reputable competitor. They came and quoted me $1,400 plus tax for parts and labour and told me I should replace it even though it was not that old. I was skeptical with this price so I decided to order the parts myself. I spent $450 on the parts and notified Nova that I had the parts. Travis sent out one of his guys over the same afternoon and fixed the furnace. He also fixed a gas fireplace that wouldn't start charging only $180 for everything. I saved $770 compared to the other company's quote and in addition I got my gas fireplace fixed. The furnace repair industry is similar to the auto repair service industry in that homeowners are often unaware of the mechanics of a furnace and rely on the technician to troubleshoot. This is why it is imperative that you chose an honest company like Nova!

I hired a famous company for duct cleaning, but after the cleaning procedure, my furnace just blew cold air the flame did not work at all. The duct cleaner came but could not do anything 1-star rating for them, tribble experience will never get back to them. Anyway I called Travis and he did a great job and fixed my furnace. He was very punctual professional and knowledgeable and did a clean job, happy to have him in North Van. I highly recommend this local family company.
