A little over 11 months ago I was involved in a car accident. One of which, was to no fault of my own. I didn’t want to be “that” person by hiring an attorney. However, after having injuries, a broken finger and a torn ligament of which I still suffer with today, I hired one and I’m so glad I did. I didn’t know the long road ahead that we would face and I wouldn’t have been able to go against Progressive alone. Miles with O’Pry fought Progressive for me. He took stands that I wouldn’t have known to take. After TWO months of evidence and recorded statements, they finally established liability at 100% being the other driver’s fault. That was in December of 2024. It’s taken that long to get a decent amount from Progressive. Just enough to pay off the balance of the totaled vehicle. Nothing will be left over but I’m thankful that we won’t have to come out of our own pocket to pay the balance for something that could have been avoided. Things I learned: 1. Insurance companies are not on your side. 2. Get GAP insurance. Especially on used vehicles. We thought we had this when we refinanced for a lower interest rate with Advancial because we initially had it with Infiniti of Lafayette. Through this process, we found out that we did not have it and owe a balance of $8400. 3. Get a dash camera. This would have helped establish fault at a much faster rate. I’m so thankful to Miles with O’Pry Law Firm for his help and representation. He remained honest and helped every step of the way. Never made me feel like I was “another case to tick off and make money on”. I 100% recommend Miles and O’Pry Law Firm. A chapter closed.
