I completed my PPL training here from Aug 2024 to June 2025. The instructors and Brad are great people. My instructor Ryan did an excellent job. I really enjoyed this aspect. Two of three workers at reception/dispatch are very cold. If you call them, listen to their options menu - It's a look at what to expect. The other reviews about cancelations are accurate. The two don't care about your situation and have zero empathy. GFA's and wind forecasts are available from Nav Canada and windy and there's little reason to wait until 2 hours prior to cancel. Flight training is very expensive, it would be nice if you could get a friendly voice on the phone. Also be aware that there is only one runway here. The wind between Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe often produces a significant crosswind. Crosswind limits are low for new pilots and in Cessna 172s. I had a lot of cancellations because of crosswinds. I wished they also required a getting your medical prior to starting. Transport Canada can be very slow processing them and while I waited for mine, I wasted time training. Inquire about their average cost to complete PPL training. The website states around 23k. It cost me around 38k. Everyone's different so this isn't a super accurate figure but I'm sure they have more up to date data on what their average PPL student spends. They have a nice size fleet of planes, an in house mechanic and an in house examiner. This part was all fantastic. It was also very convenient that I could do my written exam here. I really enjoyed my time with Ryan. He's an excellent instructor! Levi, Nolan, Matt, Brian were all nice to chat with while in the waiting area. Brad, one of the owners and the examiner is extremely helpful and friendly. They are all extremely knowledgeable.

I booked a discovery flight weeks in advance for my boyfriend’s birthday, only for it to be canceled 2 hours before due to weather issues while we were already on our way to the flight centre (we live 2 hours away). The worst part was the front desk person seemed annoyed at me for being surprised. Although I understand this is a completely valid reason, I had called a day earlier after checking the forecast just to make sure that the weather would not affect the flight. At that time, they confirmed it wouldn’t be an issue. I wish they had at least told me there was a possibility so that I could have made alternative arrangements.

Great center to learn how to fly with a lot of professional & qualified instructors! All this with a personal approach and friendly environment. I recommend this place at 110%!!!
