I had an extremely negative experience with Joshua Goldberg. He disclosed sealed and publication-banned information that I shared with him confidentially regarding a family matter involving my minor child. This disclosure was later ruled harmful to my child by the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (HRTO). Crown counsel confirmed that the information was sealed and banned from publication, and the HRTO agreed. Despite this, Joshua Goldberg showed a complete disregard for the serious impact this disclosure had on my child, a Black minor. He also discussed my private family matter with others without my knowledge or consent, further breaching my trust and confidentiality. As a result of his actions, my child was exposed to harm. I believe this conduct reflects a lack of professionalism, judgment, and respect for client confidentiality—qualities that are essential in a lawyer. He is currently involved in multiple human rights proceedings related to violations of my disability rights under the Human Rights Code. I was vulnerable, impacted by my disability at the time and trusted him to act in my and my child’s best interests. Instead, that trust was broken, with serious consequences. I would strongly caution others to be very careful, as the level of trust, professionalism, and expertise I expected was not present.
